Revision TKR Left, right, left again

I ended up with a catheter on Wednesday night as I was unable to go despite my bladder being reasonably full.
This happened to me also. It was at 4:30 am and I was glad I had spent the night in the hospital, what would have happened if I had been home, with this problem! :yikes:
I was able to go on my own after that.
I found it really hard to to go first time post catheter. Took me ages but I’m fine now.

I am so sorry to read of your struggles following your surgery.
Unfortunately spinal was as beginning to wear off so I had a short general anaesthetic too.

I found that GA causes me to throw up for days afterward. That might be the cause of your nausea, or it might be your pain meds. Did you get some medicine for nausea? I found it helped me some. Can your doctor change your pain medicine? I discovered that I couldn't take morphine. It causes violent throwing up. Once my doctor changed it to something else, I was fine.

Being so sick on top of your knee pain just isn't fair. I pray that you get relief for both!

I’ve been getting lots of anti sickness meds. I’m off morphine now. Haven’t vomited today. I’m moving forward. I’ve managed to eat today. Even made it out of bed very briefly. Had to get back in as my Bp plummeted but it’s all progress. Definitely feeling brighter today

Small improvements adding up! Hang in there. We're rooting for you!

Glad you're slowly improving. May it only get better from here on out. :fingersx:

Feeling much better today. Pain is much more manageable. I have a glide sheet under my operated leg which is making gentle bending easier. Feeling positive. Only a small bend but very much better than yesterday

That excellent to hear!

Every long journey begins with the first step.

Sending you some positive juju for a good day today! :praying:

Thank you. That made me smile

That knee photo looks darn good!!! Glad you're tolerating the chair. Onward to a short, safe walk!!!!!

Wonderful news! You should be pleased with yourself.
Bring on the simple pleasures! Makes the process so much easier and gratitude is a great feeling!

I’ve ventured as far as the proper toilet this evening. I just can’t believe the difference from yesterday. Hope I haven’t overdone things. No more today.

Today I had a lovely shower and hair wash.
THE BEST!
I'll bet feeling all fresh and clean and mastering the stairs put a little hop in your step, Toothfairy.
I hope you're released today. Being in our own space is so much more peaceful than a busy surgery site.
Safe travels home and Happy Sunday!

Unfortunately there has been a change of plan. They have discovered‘something’ growing on a sample taken during surgery and want to wait until they are sure what it is before deciding next steps and when to let me home. I’m fully aware of the potential issues but not going to worry just yet. It won’t change anything!

I am so glad to read that you are off of the morphine and your nausea is much better. Being able to eat will aid in your recovery! Hopefully, you'll be home soon.

Be prepared for your trip home to cause more pain and swelling, and exhaust you. Don't push yourself and get plenty of rest, icing, and elevation.

I am sorry to read you're facing uncertainty. Thankfully you're not going to worry. As you mentioned, it won't change anything. Concentrate on what you can control today and try to engage in something that brings joy or relaxation like reading or meditating. Remain hopeful and remind yourself that many outcomes are possible and it doesn't have to be negative.

This definitely brings back memories of the last twice and being utterly exhausted by the time I got home despite the fact that we live very close by. Good advice as always.
