@lillibet123 You may have noticed I merged your new thread into your existing recovery thread. Please keep all your recovery posts here so we can advise you based on your history.

Please go back to the articles Sharon posted for you. Post op blues are all a part of this recovery - but they will pass. It's all a bit of a roller coaster. Just hang on - things will improve!

I'm dealing with alot of emotions. Yes the house needs a cleaning. But it doesn't bother me. Hubby has been great. Always there ti help. He asks how I'm feeling. It must be healing. It's itchy and tingling. He wants to put up a small tree. . I'm not sure if I'm into that. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I need another good cry

Hi lillibet,
I cried and cried after my surgery. And I had to get used to things not being the way I liked them. My husband did the best he could, but of course not the way I could....lol!
Hang in there, it does get better!

Has anyone noticed a loss of appetite . I get hungry but can't eat very much. I'm not sure if it's the pain meds that are doing this to me.

He wants to put up a small tree. . I'm not sure if I'm into that.
If HE wants to put up the tree that's fine. If you are not feeling up to this just watch.
Has anyone noticed a loss of appetite .
Very normal. Eat very small, light meals throughout the day. Yogurt, ice cream - whatever you fancy. This too shall pass!

Thanks. Just not sure yet where to put the tree. .because we need an open space to walk with my walker.

Hubby needs to get creative. A little tree hung from the ceiling or standing on a patio right outside a window. Lots of options!

Hubby is staying ti feel the effects of all i do around here plus look after me. . He is starting to get cranky. he is making us a wonderful stew for supper. And it took him almost two hours to get it all in the pot . Poor man will need a vacation

Can I give you a piece of advice? DO NOT feel guilty about needing help right now. Hubby will cope - he has to cope. Getting cranky is only causing you unnecessary stress.

You may want to sit down and work out a plan so you don't feel you are asking too much and he does not feel overworked. Both of you need to remember that all does not have to be perfect. Think about creative ways to limit the load. Your recovery is so important right now. Get this right in the few weeks post op and you have a lifetime of tons of activity together.

@lillibet123 just checking to see how you are doing. Hope your recovery is going well.

I think I'm doing very well. I'm walking as much as i can. I can walk around the house a few times inside. I can do the exercises easily now. I still have some pain. but very tolerable. I slept all night last night. Was awake about 4am fur a few minutes. My staples are itching really good now. I get those out on Dec 24th. I'm still walking with my walker. .hurts a little more to walk alone.

hurts a little more to walk alone.
Sounds like you are doing just great. Stick with the walker for now. When you start leaving it behind it's a sign you can transition to crutches (or a crutch) or a cane. Well done!

Yes. I can stand at the counter and move within that space. Im going to try walk a little more less dependent on the walker as i use it this weekend. I'm going when the staples come out that I'll be walking better. Altho i can go a good speed now pushing the walker. Haha. Thankfully my floors are all wood or ceramic tile. .no carpet

@lillibet123, yaaay! I'm so happy to see you on the other side! It sounds like you're doing great. I'm winging healing vibes your way. Take care and be well, Hon. :)

Of course you all thought i would do ok. Its not the same till i went through it. I am waiting patiently for the day of....NO PAIN

I know, @lillibet123, the first little bit brings a lot of challenges and you truly cannot know the whole picture until you go through it yourself. Please know the no pain times will come. It is a process and it's not always linear. As gains are made, sometimes those recovering muscles and ligaments will be sore.
Have faith and be good to yourself. Cry when you need to. That seems to be a very common theme...I know I had my bouts.
You're going to be okay. :)

Thank you @DeepBreath. Because of the holidays. .it's alot more moody around here. There is only one exercise my leg can't do yet. Its the slide the leg out while laying on the bed. It's like a leg lift. But sideways. . I can do all the others in my book. The knee is scheduled for June. A lot less going on.

I hear you. The Holidays can bring about a lot of emotions and not all of them are good.
Oh man, the side abduction exercise. It took me quite a while to be able to do that. I had a home PT person 3 days a week (which didn't work out too great...long story) and he yapped at me about not being able to do the side abduction. It freaked me out to no end and I was sure something was horribly wrong.
One day, a few weeks out from my surgery, I tried it on a lark and lo and behold I could do it just fine. It was then I realized there was a lot of initial trauma that needed to settle down. It's a process and sometimes irritating as heck, but those good days and the forward leaps are incredible. :)

Yes. I'm not concerned. I try. I can move it out an inch. I can do the others real good. So i suspected the muscles need to heal. I can do it standing a little more. I don't want ti hurt it yet. So I'm going slow. The itching is driving me crazy today. It was pouring rain then snowing here on Nova Scotia today. I'm surprised my knee isn't in pain. Must be the pain killers
