Do you take the 1 gram of lorazepam at bedtime? And when are you taking te paracetamol?

hi Jamie. I only take the lorazepam at bedtime if i need it. Usually take paracetamol a few hours before bedtime and when I wake up in the morning. I took it tonight but I still am not sleeping 1½ hours after taking it. Will do some meditation/breathing now and hopefully that will help me get to sleep. bonne nuit, thanks for your comments

Are you seriously telling us that you have NO pain right now? No soreness, aching, burning soreness, stabbing, throbbing, stiffness or swelling at all? Because I find that difficult to believe at only 3 weeks out. Though Sleep deprivation is normal up to a point, it's often exacerbated by low grade pain which needs medicating. I strongly suggest you take the paracetamol four times a day. You may find it makes you more comfortable in the long run.

Couple of things to ask you, if you don't mind apart from thank you for figuring out how to do your signature! Well done! :thumb:

One comment is that from time to time you seem to get your CAPS lock on. Please make note of this as in forum-land, this is known as shouting and not considered good 'net-iquette'!! :)

Californiagal, I'm about 10 weeks post op and I totally relate to sleep deprivation. Pain meds like Percocet do not make me drowsy, they keep me awake, but I needed pain control in order to sleep. I got so tired of not sleeping two weeks after surgery my family doc prescribed me tamazapam for sleep. What a relief it was to finally get a whole 8 or 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Everyone is different, my recovery literally took a big leap forward when I was finally able to sleep consistently.

guyr californiagal
I'm also just over seven weeks. I take half a 7.5 mg zopiclone at bedtime and it works for me. I never take a whole one as I don't want to inadvertently sleep in a poor position. I always make sure I'm propped up. And I take my last percocet several hours before bed for the same reason. I have had trouble sleeping for some years so my body is used to intermittent, low dose zopiclone, mostly when traveling. I discussed it with my OS before surgery.

thanks guyr. i glad to hear you're getting some zzzzzzz and feeling better.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how important it is to get formal physical therapy on a regular basis post op as opposed to just doing exercises give by the physical therapists at the hospital at departure?
