Jacey and Dede62 one again than you for your advice and support, it means a lot. I am not sure what caused the problem. I think it is slowly getting to me that I have had an op that has taken the stuffing out of me and the fact that I am usually on the go all the time is hitting home that I cannot do that at the present time. I am feeling in less pain today but still weepy. Time is a great healer as they say and I will hang on in there to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you both once again. This site is amazing for help and support. :)

Josephine, I did indeed read the article from Jacey and many of the factors I can relate to. I am having a bit better day today. As they say time is a great healer. I am used to being on my feet and kept busy busy. This op has sure taken it out of me. My family keep telling me to enjoy the rest, but that is easier said than done when they are able to go out without thinking. :gaah:
Hope you are well.

Hi paradiseplace I have just caught up with you again and I hope you are feeling better with less pain and that the blues have gone.I felt very tired after my arthroscopy and I stupidly viewed it as minor surgery when in reality it knocked the stuffing out of me. The other problem was that it wasn't a common operation like THR so there wasn't as much support or information about. Also each scope is individual to the patient and it depends on the reason for having it done and what they find. Are you having any physio ?

Hi Kim22
Thank you very much for keeping in touch. I am not doing too bad thank you. I have more of a dull ache than pain, getting the odd twinge in the side of my hip and groin, which I am hoping I am putting it down correctly to the healing process!!. The blues have suppressed so feeling better than last week.
I know exactly what you mean about the stuffing being knocked out of you. I cannot believe how drained I feel after doing near enough nothing.
I do not start with the physio on until this Friday, so I will probably be feeing even more energy has gone from me. I will be happy to get off the crutches though soon as they seem to drain what energy I have.
How's things wit you and I hope you are feeling better than last time we spoke?
Keep in touch it is nice to hear how other people are getting on with recovering from the same op. :friends:

paradiseplace, I have moved all posts since May 14, 2013 into the Hip Replacement Recovery forum where they properly belong since you are in recovery. If you'd like a different thread title, just tag me with the change you'd like, otherwise I will assume that you are okay with the one you have.

Hi paradiseplace I am so glad you are feeling better now and you are so right about the surgery and recovery draining the energy out of you. I remember how glad I was to get off the crutches and it won't be long for you too.The physio will also help but remember the advice about physio on this site if it hurts don't do it.Best of luck.
Well it's 10 weeks now since I had my new hip and I am improving slowly. I can walk further now without being on the constant look out for somewhere to sit and my ROM is definitely improving.I still have sore muscles and discomfort from the tendinitis. I still have a major problem with the energy drain so have decided to just do the one mile walk every other day.I know I will get there in the end but I need to be patient and remember this is a marathon not a sprint.

Hi Kim22 I am so pleased to hear that you are making good progress with you new hip. My Mum is waiting to have a hip replacement very soon. She saw her OS 4 weeks ago who said that he hoped to be able to send her an appointment within 6-8 weeks. So hopefully she will not be waiting much longer.
I have had a good couple of days now, so hopefully I am on the right road to a good recovery. Looking forward to starting physio on Friday too. How many times did you attend physio after your scope? :)

paradiseplace So glad you have had a couple of good days now. I had a few sessions with the NHS physio but as they didn't seem to have enough time to do hands on treatments I went to see a private one who was much better.Have you told your Mum about Bonesmart yet ?

Kim22, Hope you are well. Another good day for me today and I have not had any meds either. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Yes I have told my Mum about Bonesmart. She has looked at it briefly, but think once she gets her op date she will look into it further. :)
