Good Morning All !
I opened the forum this morning and just smile a big grin! So many of you are sending good encouragement and hopeful words my way. My surgery is still this Wednesday, however, all my pre-op test are today. I'm pretty excited and very optimistic about the entire ordeal. Thanks for the heads up on "resting" instead of stressing in rehab. I will respect my knees and do what it wants to do, day by day!

I'm here in pre-op alone so the case manager can see I really need to be discharged to rehab!

Thanks Again for the wonderful support....I do not feel alone in this :-)

Hi Brave, I hope your pre-op appointment went well. Hopefully you are feeling a little more relaxed about everything now. In 48 hours you will be recovering from your op - way to go :yes!:

Hey Brave4life,
A huge hug and lots of good wishes and prayers are being sent your way for tomorrow from me.
I had RTKR on June 7th and have my final appointment with my surgeon this Saturday, hopefully he will say I am doing ok and sign me off.
I do have to have my left knee done also, I wanted both done at the same time, but here in UK there are not many surgeons who will do this so well done to you for being able to have them done together.
I am just over 4 weeks post op and although I can walk around the shops (for a little while) prepare and cook a meal, get in and out of the shower by myself, I actually do spend a lot of time elevating and icing my knee. If you go back to work too soon please dont do it to the detriment of your recovery.
People on here are amazing and know exactly how you feel before and after the op and at any precise moment in your recovery so please dont stop posting on here, it helps tremendously to know that whatever you are feeling is normal and that others have felt it too.
I found the post-op blues the most awful thing to endure, even now I can burst into tears over something stupid, I know its all part of the healing process so be prepared for anything and everything.
Again I wish you a quick and uneventful operation and a trouble free recovery.
Your journey begins on the 12th, take us with you.

Great post everyone! Brave4life, I think you can sense that everyone is expressing, do things in moderation. Just take what the body gives you. Forcing the issue causes inflammation and will delay your progress. Rome was not built in a day, and it was not because you were not there. This is a huge surgery. Even this old rugby player would not do both on the same day. The world will go on fine with you on the sidelines.

Brave4life, I wish you all the very best for tomorrow. You will be absolutely fine and before you know it you will be waking up from the surgery and starting your recovery.

Lots of hugs (I was going to say lots of hugs and bugs, but bugs are the very last thing you need :umm:) and even more hugs, will be thinking of you tomorrow and look forward to your post on the other side, when you feel able to.

Hope all went well today. Please post when you get back to reality and let us know how you faired. You were ready so I'm sure it went great. Be prepared and rock through your recovery!
