Angie, Angie, Angie - please don't try to do any "bits" around the house. You poor thing - you need to let your body heal and get your strength back. You are not lazy and useless. You are recovering from major surgery and illness. Listen to your hubby. I am sure he is very worried. Take care and go easy!

@Jacey

Yes your right, thanks for your care and concern.

I will behave myself !!!!!

Not able to be naughty lol
Angie

@cornishedge Give yourself a break....you've so been through the mill....you're not lazy or useless!! At the moment you need to rest and let your body heal for the new hip which you need....I feel for you and your hubby having to see to your mum as well. Although you want to help her you won't be any good to anyone if you don't help yourself first. I so know how you feel...my hubby has been looking after me since THR and his mum, who has been so demanding...he's getting very tetchy with it all.....life!!! Please take care...Chrissie xxx

Hope you and yours have had a wonderful Christmas holiday with lots of family fellowship and sharing of gifts and lots of good food to eat.

I’ll be looking for you at the BoneSmart annual New Year’s Party. It’s been a very eventful year for most of us---and will be a very eventful year coming up for others of us looking forward to surgery in the new year.

Remember to bring food and drink to share---and pictures are always appreciated and loads of fun to share.

Angie -- if you can't have a private nurse perhaps a friend or family member could stay with you, at least the first night. That way they could go get the nurse or raise hell or whatever was needed to get you decent care.

Hope you are feeling better today.

Love,

Milli

@cornishhedge hi Angie...been thinking of you hoping that you and your mum are feeling better now.....looking forward to hearing from you...Chrissie x

I've been thinking of you, too, Angie. How are you doing? How's your mum doing? Both better, I hope.

Love,
Milli

@Butterfly @Hoppy Nanny

Thanks you two. Well my mum is out of hospital but I have to say she is no better.
She won't get the doctor out because she says he is useless !!!
Problem is because of my operation I can't get up her steps to see her. It's so annoying.
I don't know why my mother didn't move years ago.! Oh it does annoy me.

My darn hip is getting worse, the right one is playing up now! Can't sleep with it. Keeps waking me up. Well they both do. Also my tummy still hurts like mad.

I called doc and she said as it was a complicated gall bladder removal it will be another 4 weeks till I feel better.

Just want to get on and get this hip sorted. I keep thinking all the time of how much better my life will be when I can walk again.

Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Angie

Aw Angie, I am so sorry you are having to go through all this! But you'll get that hip done. Just rest and let your tummy heal. Please don't try to do too much. Right now the priority is you!

@jacey

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I have been taking it easy, had a few funny turns so have had to lie low for a bit.
Tummy slightly easier today. Not good but slight improvement.

It's trying to walk that hurts because it uses tummy muscles. The tri walker helps but still have to actually press on it to walk. Have got a nice new style of walking last few days lol
To take less weight on tummy I'm sticking my backside out and pushing the walker with my elbows!!!!
It's nice when I catch sight of myself in the mirror !!!!
Oh and of course it does a lot for my self esteem. !!!!

Oh well !!!

Thanks
Angie

Gosh you are going through the mill @ValerieM. My heart goes out to you hoping that the next few weeks sees an improvement in your pain. Once you can get the hip done you will be free of that pain..... Try and hold onto that thought. Mothers! They don't realise how hard they make it when they refuse to move... But you must look after you first! Loving the sound of your new walking pattern... Now if I could just be a fly on the wall .... Look after yourself.... Love Chrissie xxx

@cornishhedge I know what you mean about the walker -- I hated when I'd see myself in the mirror (especially from the side) using that thing -- all hunched over, etc. As I told Shrinkette earlier, it made me feel like the Hunchback of Notre Dame and certainly didn't do anything for my self-esteem, either.

Hope you and your mum are doing better. Could you arrange to have your mum move now, to a lower apartment? Just seems like it is so hard for you to get up there to see her, and it would be better if she was somewhere more accessible, both for her and for you.

Peace and love to you.
