@Doodles51 Thank you so much for the positive vibes! Sounds like you are having a good experience too!! Hoping you continue to have a positive experience. Hopefully you will be right and my nerves will calm down once I'm at the hospital. They are just as out-of-control now as they were the first time! Take care!

@nanal Great to see you back on here again!! You should just schedule it for November so we can recover together again! You were only a few weeks behind me the first go around! :) Let's stick to tradition!! Thank you for your positive thoughts! Yes, we had a good recovery last go around, dare I hope for the same this time?

Hi @ilovefall
I am absolutely sure that the most difficult part is the waiting. I have only had one done but think I would be equally anxious for the second. Those of us born to worry seem to manage to worry about anything! But you will be so happy when its done and your recovery is in process. Hope your recovery is like Jaycees - even better second time round.

@ilovefall hello and hey hey hey! It's almost October! Squeeeeee!

I noticed that you mentioned your father having his THR earlier in September, how is he doing?? He is approaching the 4 week anniversary?

As you well know, that for you, the next couple of weeks will pass by quickly.
I am one week post op and I wouldn't be afraid to have the other hip done after this experience. And that-- to me--is a pretty incredible statement! I have nothing but warm, fuzzy thoughts about last week's experience. In fact, I am getting a bit misty, just thinking about it.
I hope the next couple of weeks are good ones,, with just enough pain to keep you focused on the need for the procedure but not so much pain that you can't enjoy the fall weather that you love.:happydance::yay::flwrysmile:

@copsham Thank you for the kind words! ;-)

@CricketHip My father will be four weeks tomorrow. He's walking with a cane and doing outpatient PT. He's coming along nicely and gaining strength everyday. His recovery has had some glitches; he has a bad back and a bad knee. He got an injection in his last week, so that's been helping.

Yes, the next couple weeks will fly, especially since I have them jam packed with appointments (Drs, hair, eye doc, dentist). We also have my son's family weekend at Penn State University the Friday & Saturday before my surgery. Hopefully, this will help keep my mind off my nerves.

I'm glad you too are having a good experience with your hip replacement. I pray my second will go as smooth as my first and as smooth as yours. Keep in touch!

I can't believe my surgery is in three more days. Nerves are here in full force. I've been through this before (with wonderful results) but unfortunately it hasn't stopped the nerves.

Ooooh! And the 3 days will fly by so quickly!
Sorry to hear about the pre op nerves attack.
Well, you had such great results last time and you will do fine again this time!
But yes. It's still surgery and of course you'd feel a bit anxious.
I tell myself that I wouldn't be nervous if the other hip needs surgery but I bet I'd be nervous, too, when push came to shove.
Hopefully you have a few fun things planned to keep your mind busy.
Best wishes for an easy surgery day and a speedy recovery!

@ilovefall
Enjoy your weekend! It's so pretty at Pen State.. and you will get to see the changing leaf colors. :)

Woo Hoo! An early start is good, yes? That was my arrival time and then all of a sudden it was over. Best wishes and healing thoughts for you!

So Vancomyacin is making me itch like crazy (same as last time) so they just gave me benadryl. Maybe I'll doze a bit as the case before me is taking longer than expected.

That's great that it's so early. Mine was, too. I was all done with both hips by 10:20 a.m. I'm visualizing a smooth surgery and recovery for you.

p.s. Deep breathing helped me with the nerves: in for 8 counts, holding for 8 counts, and slowly out for 8 counts.

Hi @ilovefall . Welcome once more to the other side. I am sending you thoughts of a simple recovery with few surprises except good one.
