I haven't been back on this side for a while and didn't know until now that your husband is in the hospital. I am so sorry. I know how close you two are and you must be terrible lonely. Hopefully, he can come home today. When you're used to someone being there I big ole house can be scary and lonely. I know you don't share my faith, but I'll pray for him anyway. It can't hurt!

I really appreciate your kind words Paula @sistersinhim . He is STILL in captivity and hoping he comes home today. I am pretty lonely, but my wonderful dogs keep me company. But, the old when it rains it pours, one of my dogs is suffering with a nasty hot spot under her tail. She saw the vet the other day, but she is still pretty bothered with it, so all night long I hear her banging around the bedroom, trying to get the cone of shame off her head to lick at bite where it hurts/itches/ But Im trying to be positive that she will clear up, and that my husband will come home. And as far as faith? I have faith in humanity and kindness from people, and you are one of the kindest, so I will gladly and appreciatively thank you for your prayers. Prayers, good juju, happy thoughts, hope from the universe, gladly accepted :) ,

You have your hands full right now with your hubby and your dog. Did the vet say what caused the hot spot? In the past I have had to get one of my cats a cortisone shot because of allergies that caused skin breakouts. After just one shot they cleared right up.

Golden Retrievers are VERY prone to hotspots. Having loved the breed for 40 years, they are just a part of life. Seems more so in summer when they swim and its hot, and, well just life. I have e-collars in every possible size, to deal with them from their necks to their butts, just part of the love ;), just sad to watch them be uncomfortable. She did get a cortisone shot, so hopefully it will clear up soon.

@dianehelen I'm sure your hubby misses you too, I really hope he comes home today. If you are anything like me, I'm sure you are not sleeping well at night with him not being home, last year my hubby was in the hospital for 3 days and I didn't sleep much, then you have your doggy to deal with also, time for some wine tonight.

I'm sending the prayers, positive thoughts, good juju your way. Take care of yourself!!

Hopefully the shot will work and hubby will come home!

Thanks @uva55 & @sistersinhim your prayers, juju and wishes worked. He is being released at noon .

And ya, sleeping alone , not great. He was away last month for 4 days with some buddies, at the Indy 500 in Indianapolis , and even then sleeping alone was restless. You get used to that warm body next to you after 43 years.

Thanks friends

PS: there WILL be wine for me this afternoon. , no wine emoticons, bummer

I'm very happy your husband is coming home today. I hope he is feeling well. I also hope your puppy is feeling better soon. It hard to see the ones we love in pain.

He is home thanks all. Now we are doing an exhausting search & learning exp to find a probiotic that they recommended he start taking. Wow, so many, hard to know what to do. I think I will start taking them as well in anticipation for surgery in august. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I know paula mentioned one. More stuff to understand.

Interesting, ok. They dont really compare to the bonesmart way per se, but I guess do give some idea of alternative post op care to conventional painful PT.

@dianehelen I'm so glad hubby is home, I hope he is feeling better.

Around 6 months ago I had to take antibiotics and they were giving me really bad upset stomach, my daughter-in-law who is a pharmacist recommended that I take pro biotics, my stomach problems went away, I was able to finish taking antibiotics, I also noticed that I no longer get that occasional bloated feeling or gassy issues.

Below I posted a picture of the one I take, they are very pricey and there are so many to choose from, but this one works for me, they are the Publix brando, $28 for 6 week supply.

Thanks @uva55 Clara. Do you know how many billion cfu's this one has?

That does not seem that pricey, compared to the one they suggested. Bio-k, was like 30 bucks for 15 days. It has either 25 or 50 billion cfu's

@dianehelen 5 billion...what the the doctor recommend? I don't know what's a good one or not, they all claim to be the best!

Well I can officially say NEXT MONTH is my surgery. oyeeeee

Hubby is home and happy to be home. So am I and so are the dogs. We bought a bottle of probiotics, some fiber bars, as well as some lima beans, and other veggies to get more fiber into him. Picked up Pollo Tropical for dinner with some nice fiber rich black beans.. ( I love black beans, he will learn to :) )

On to August... and all that goes with it

Blood work scheduled 7/23
Pre Op Class scheduled 7/12

Not sure how long in advance I should order ice machine, or just go with the gel packs some of you guys seem to think are just as good.. decisions, decisions...

@dianehelen yummy dinner, I had Bar B Q.

Glad hubby is doing well.

One thing with the ice machine, I don't know if they are all the same, but the one I had in the Hospital, it felt amazing, but it was very noisy, and they said it was a $2000 machine, and they had to empty the water and add ice every 2 hours. If you are are a light sleeper it's something to consider, it's already hard enough to sleep...but there are many on this site that love them.
