Revision THR Complex Revision poor outcome Ehlers Danlos

@PolarIce What was your surgeons reason for using it for your replacement?
What do you notice with it?

Hi @Flowerfloosey69
Just catching up and I am so sorry to see you are headed for another surgery:sad:
- I'm sure PolarIce will be back to give her experience but she also was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos and is hypermobile so she has mentioned on her thread that this led to the OS's decision to use a dual mobility implant.
I hope this is what will be the period on your hip sentence!
Hugs

I have hypermobile joints(super flexible), so he gave me the dual mobility joint because it will give you a bigger range of motion than a standard joint, which lower my chances of dislocation.

It’s a perfect joint. I am still as flexible(I can bring my knee right up to my chest), and not worry about dislocating. Surgeon said they use that joint either in cases like mine with hypermobility or in more active patients who will benefit from the higher range of motion.

Thank you Polarice! I appreciate all the real life experience info I can read!

Flower, did DR Sah put in your original constraint liner? I sent you a private message..

Sorry you are still dealing with your hip. I agree with CricketHip, a massage therapist with advanced skills may be able to help. You might want to find someone who uses an indirect method such as Reiki, Zero Balancing, or Counterstrain.
Update:
I am again three months post op on my 3 rd revision of LTHRevision am feeling stronger in general but still have weakness and some stiffness and pain. It seems my biggest issue now is my spine which has gotten way worse thru this whole mess. There is no surgeon who will touch my spine due to loose ligaments

I am happy to read you're feeling stronger in general. Hopefully the weakness and stiffness will gradually ease.
So sorry you're struggling with spine issues. I hope you find comfort some way, Flowerfloosey.
Take good care and thanks for stopping by with an update.
@Flowerfloosey69

Really sorry to read you are having some hiccups. I hope those issues resolve soon for you.

@Flowerfloosey69 hoping for no more revisions. :fingersx: And hoping you're building your strength more as the days go by and that dreadful stiffness is clearing out. Maybe once you get settled with the hip there's some kind of therapy they can send you to to build up your core for the spine. I know I need to get better at working my core because even having had spine surgery there are still issues. :friends: Hope everything starts to turn around for you.

When things kind of settle for you, you may want to seek some physical therapy and/or a consultation with a chiropractor to deal with any spine issues. If you didn’t have back problem prior to your hip replacement, it’s possible that some targeted therapy for specific muscles might help. There is a definite relationship between your hips and spine that can cause issues after a hip replacement.
