but had a bit of a steroid crash a couple of days after. I think it was the first time I'd had steroids with Rituximab although I had them every chemo cycle.
I had a pacemaker interrogation. My heart is getting lazy now and uses the pacemaker almost all the time. The technician turned on a crystal to help stop the breathlessness and it really seems to be working....I live and learn all the time with these medical things. My OU course is going well too, a steep learning curve.
Off to Budapest on Wednesday, we've been to Edinburgh and to visit friends in Notts.
2015 will be the year of the house and garden I think! :loll:Decorating and TLC calls.

Ha ha, yes just getting them out! I bought a faux fur coat too. Unfortunately I've been on antibiotics for a bad cold and now Dh has got it. :bawl:It was one of those grandchild/children germs they all hand out generously, dreadful throat.

Have a wonderful trip!

18 months post TKR, but with other major health problems, I'm trying physio exercises and arnica gel at the moment. If my TKR doesn't improve I'm going to ask my OS for further advice and an X-ray. I feel I'm a hair's breadth off a good outcome but at the moment it's proving elusive.
I have a good ROM, a clean, clear scar with little heat from the site but have a "spongy" knee that swells when I walk and can be painful, now giving me night aches/pain too.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it improves in the new Year. What a Year it's been for you. It's got to get better dosent it. Sending you Christmas wishes a little late and lots of luck health and happiness for 2015 ❤️

Well touch wood it's improved a lot in the last few months Sue. I get little niggly pains sometimes especially when the weather turns colder. My right knee is no longer a problem as it's no longer supporting my TKR knee. I've been Christmas shopping this year without pains. On one day we went to Manchester Christmas markets then the Arndale centre then the Trafford Centre on the way home. Could never have done that last year.

It will be good to have this checked out by your surgeon, but it is possible to have swelling like this for a while after surgery....yep, even for years. I had it worse with my first knee and actually it still can swell a bit when I really give it a workout. Pain associated with the swelling is probably going to be considered "normal." But if you experience pain when you weight bear, that could be a different issue and definintely needs to be checked out.

@Jamie thank you. I've been reading a thread that is interesting about quad exercises. My physio has given me a couple to do. My poor leg was very badly affected by swelling from the lymphoma (gland in groin) for a long while and of course I wasn't as active as I could have been post TKR, with 6 months of chemo. I wear a compression hose when I have to walk a lot.

@Nana moon 27
I'm up and down really.
Last month all was fine with my haem consultation and the Rituximab injection went well.
I'm just not sure what's happening with my TKR. We went to the Lake District for a few days last week but by 2-3pm each day I needed to go back to the hotel....general tiredness including leg/knee aches. I came home thinking an X-Ray wouldn't go amiss.
Then yesterday I had rather a lot of nasty symptoms similar to those I had pre-Lymphoma diagnosis including the swollen leg. I have no idea whether my problems with my TKR are related to my other big disease, I suspect so. I'm going to ask for a referral to a Lympheodema specialist and also see how things go, it's very mixed up and complicated.
I had my last physio although I can and may go back during a 6 week window of opportunity. Just because I measure 0/130 on a good day doesn't mean I can walk pain free. Usually I can't go upstairs without pulling on the banister for support and it's always painful going up, down was and is fine. I feel I'm not aligning my leg properly but physio on the NHS doesn't seem to extend to in depth help....130 ROM is more than good, so bye bye.
I'm only pain free when I'm pottering about the house a few days in a row. As I don't drive and always loved walking this is hard to accept. I walked 4 miles a day as a 5 year old, at least 4 miles a day in my 50s.
I may ring my OS and ask for an X-Ray.

Sue,
I agree that you need to call for an x ray and an examination to figure out why you are still having pain with your TKR. You may need a second opinion, if so Josephine can help you.

Hi @Dabber

I'm sorry your under the weather at the moment. My friend has Lymphoedema in her arm after having breast surgery. I don't really know what Lymphoedema is but I will google it after. My friend has regular physio and has to wear a special sleeve.

I forgot to tell you. Well update you. I don't know if you recall our conversation last year about my daughters sis in law having Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Well she's doing just great. Her hair is growing back, her prognosis is looking good and hopeful. We were so worried at the time about her. She's gained some weight too. She still has to go for regular checks but she looks brilliant.

I wish you luck, Sue and hope that you get an early appointment to try and get this sorted.

Where did you stay in the Lake District? I adore the Lake District x x x

Take care Sue, my thoughts are with you
Love Ann x x x

@Nana moon 27 We stayed in the Langdale Hotel first then a very nice guest house in Windermere.

I'm so pleased to hear about your daughter's SIL, I hope it all goes well. Weight gain is an awful nuisance but the MDT don't worry about it, it's only an issue if you lose weight. I put on 1 1/2 stone unfortunately although I'd just lost 1/2 stone following my TKR.

Onwards and upwards.

Sue x

Hi @Dabber,

A lovely location. We stayed at Fell Foot Cottage , Little Langdale years ago. The last cottage before the Wrynose pass. Simply idealic.

Sorry that you are up and down at the moment. I hope things improve soon.
