You mean you don't take tea, at 3, with cucumber sandwiches?? Milk first or after? Earl Grey or British Breakfast? Do you do the finger curl?:giggle:
Too much Downton if you ask me.
Are you watching "Breathless", I love that programme, adore it. Surely we were never like that, oh yes we were! I also liked "Dancing on the Edge."
Dabs.

My orthopaedic consultant was really happy with my knee, generously measured my ROM at 130 and said he wished all his patients had done so well. (I'd just told him I'd had to forget about the knee since my diagnosis and he agreed it had to be forgotten in favour of the Lymphoma.) I'll go again at 1 year post TKR, I can go before if I have a problem for his advice but he would have to transfer me on to someone else as the Nuffield couldn't manage the complexity of the present situation, esp re possible infection.
It is fortunate I'd had the knee done when I did and it's 5 months away from TKR and hopefully not in any immediate danger from possible infection considering my immunity will be poor.
I have bought a new thermometer and am battening down the hatches....no colds/bugs/nasties allowed through my keyhole.
I have no idea what I'll do now when knee 2 needs a new joint.....any ideas Josephine ?

Great report for your TKR!:yay:
Now you can focus on your upcoming treatment, and staying away from all those colds, bugs and nasties.
:friends:

Great news for knee no. 1 anyway Sue. Glad it was a good consultation because you sure needed it. I'm sitting here full of cold and a diagnosis today of type 2 diabetes. Lovely. I will be thinking about you and your upcoming treatment . Just stay away from those nasty germs. Hope knee no.2 behaves itself for a very long time and will be something you don't have to worry about. Best wishes x and a hug x

Hello Sue,
I am so happy your knee is doing well :) I will be thinking of you today, as you start your treatment.
I will have to start B.B so I can keep up with you & Carol.
Stay Strong,
Diana

Sue, hope you're resting well today. Have you started BB yet? I wanted to let you know that if you want proper tea this weekend the Daughters of British Empire are having their annual British Festival with tea and pubs entertainment, etc. I've never been but I have a friend who is very active in DBE - they probably won't let me have any tea because I don't know how to hold my pinkie (LOL). I'm sure I could do fine at the Pub though.

Just thinking about you and sending good, positive vibes your way. Hugs, Dorothy

Thinking of you on what I'm sure must have been a scary day. Hope you have a restful weekend. Sending you hugs x x x

and germ free!

Hi Sue, you know its absolutely true that no matter what situation you're in there is something positive in it if you look hard enough. I'm a cup half empty gal, not like @RestAssuo I tend to see the drawbacks to cyber friendships. But here we have Pumpkln siting a really big positive - we are a germ free zone.

Has Breaking Bad arrived yet? turtle68 Dorothy is now able to access BS. So as soon as you're up and running we can unpick it in Social Room new knee in June did you start watching it? Diana, if you join us genteel ladies in Social Room you will have to eat cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off. You will also have to drink your tea with your pinkie in the air (I said pinkie) - gosh there's a lot of work to be done with this gal!

Hi Sue,
I was pleased to see your post on Pat robynhood 's thread. You sound very positive.
I hope your treatment keeps going well.
Take great care when you are feeling wobbly and be very good to yourself.
I am glad you are being well looked after,
Sending you a big hug,
Toothfairy x :yes!:  :friends:

Hugs for you and your poor pricked so often stomach. :console2:

Sue, Healing thoughts to you!!! Your poor tummy.

Sending you big hugs.

Dorothy

How are you doing? I think of you so often. Everytime I think of someone I send healing thoughts and prays. I hope that the treatment aren't to hard on you. I hope that you are still be able to have tea at three in the afternoon. Please let know how you are doing. I love your postive thoughts. Tashia

Hello friends. :)
My knee is progressing just fine, it's still a baby at 5-6 months but I think I have maximum ROM for my prosthesis type and I look forward to a good future with it.:bicycle1:

I had my first chemo session on Friday 1st November. I was there for 9 hours whilst a slow infusion of antibodies was done followed by the more rapid chemo drugs going in. Small allergic reaction to the Rituximab but the infusion was stopped whilst antihistamines and steriods were introduced. My regime is R-CVP.
I hope to start a blog if anyone is interested in reading it, message me, please. This will be helpful for my own record as I'll no doubt need to have more treatment further down the line.
I was sent home with a large bag of tablets to sort out daily, plus Clexane injections to do daily, an injection I have to make up myself to increase production of stem cells 3 times this week and prophylactic antibiotics.
Slight nausea but not enough to take the prescibed tablets, taking paracetamols for the flu-like side effects of the stem cell injection.
All is fine so far, staying positive and calm but basically finding my way to deal with this cancer is to close ranks, spending some time researching it and internalising it then sharing it over the internet/phone with friends and family.
Family very supportive.
Sue.:)
