You're all very kind and I appreciate it so much.:thankyou:

I was back at the hospital today in the Urgent Care Centre to check again for a DVT as the leg is so swollen, no DVT. I now have steroids and something else to break down what the steroids break down....I take them for a week and need to drink plenty of water. They will keep me awake.....oh don't we all remember that!

I'm hoping to have a sample of bone marrow taken on Thursday but it depends upon whether there's a slot. We have a family meeting to discuss the condition and treatment on Monday 21st and all 3 of our children are hoping to be there which is nice. My family are being marvellous.

TKR is OK, keeps hurting a little but poor thing, I have to just give it a little massage.

Thank you for all the lovely kind thoughts.

Sue.:)

Hi Sue. Just dropping by to say Hi and hoping you are well. Weather has been awful hasnt it. Dosent encourage you to venture outside. Both my knees feel worse for the cold weather. My TKR knee seems constantly cold. Can't seem to get it warm. You must be exhausted with all your appointments going on. I cant imagine what you are going thru. You are a strong and positive person which must help. Sending you hugs

I was just thinking, where can I say how I feel
Hello Sue, well some support system I am. You posted Sunday and here I am replying on Friday! Two things - one BS doesn't always tell me when I have alerts, so I will have to check your thread regularly so as I don't miss messages. Second we went away for a mini break. The first in 8 months. I was so looking forward to it, particularly going round the antique shops in Petworth. Well sod's law. Mike pulled a muscle in his back yesterday. He was in agony. We didn't know if we'd be able to get home as we were in Mike's car which is a manual and I've only driven auto for the last 20 years. Any ways we did. He is now using my sticks to get around the house. We make a right pair.

All your activities to help you pass the time sound good - I said you were a clever clogs <smile>. If corresponding in french gets too easy let me know and WE can correspond in Georgie - not a universal language to be sure, but dead handy when you're next in Newcastle.

Guys, I think we should set up a "Skype for Sue" account where Carol and I can do stand-up "sit-down" comedy to cheer you up, and we can all eat Chocolate at Midnight!

Now I bet you just can't wait <chuckle>. BW2 has some good lines (on a good day:heehee: ), but when I crack jokes nobody laughs. I think its because they are too high brow - but you'd get them Sue. Off to my part time job now. Will chat later. xxx Carol

Oh no Carol! How is poor Mike now?Did you however enjoy the spam sandwiches, Bionic woman2 was really worried about our diet in the UK!
I've given up French for the moment, too much effort. Monosyllabic English is as far as I get. :heehee: patient 99 I think your name is jinxed on BS, I can't get it to tag you easily.

Hi Sue, Parlez-vous :umm: ..... English? lol How are you doing today? I wonder where patient 99 Carol went to? Think she's somewhere secretly eating her Spam sandwiches?

I need to get moving. Wolverine needs to get her eyebrows waxed today.:yikes: I scared myself when I looked in the mirror the other day and it's not even Halloween yet. :scary:Hey, do you guys celebrate that over in the UK? I'm not a fan, but it's a big deal $$$ over here.

Have a great day

Bionic woman2 I'm OK. I'm reading lots and lots of lymphoma literature, I seem to have replaced loyalites....TRK for Lymphoma.
Oh Halloween is big ££££ here now, we blame you all in the US :happydance: I don't like it at all, except perhaps pumpkins are quite sweet but I'm not a ghoulish person. Someone near here used to dress up thier house front which was quite interesting.
How are your knees?
@ patient99 Have you eaten those sandwiches yet?

Hi Sue, I'm just catching up with you. I am so pleased you didn't have a DVT.
Your knitting project sounds interesting. I have neglected my knitting this week. I need to crack on and get my husbands jumper finished.
It's time for me to start planning my return to work, if the jumper isn't finished before I go it will never get finished.
I will be thinking about you on Monday.
Take care and remember we are all here for you and you can leave your brave face in the drawer for a while when you come here.
Big hugs, Toothfairy x :console2:

@ToothfairyI haven't knitted for years, I used to knit, crochet, tat, sew and smock. I found this blanket by chance on the internet, it's not cheap but you pays your money and gets your yarn and instructions and hand-holding to make a blanket with different stitches, pictures, beading and so on over a period of months, in squares.

Big meeting on Monday re Lymphoma, will update after that.

Sue

I say you have a good enough reason to put off returning to work then, There! :tada: Tell'em I said so! :heehee: Seriously, I hope your knee is ready when the time comes and your job is not to strenuous. I miss my kids so much,:happydance: but I know when I do return to work it's going to take everything and then some out of me. :thud:

Sue, "knit one, pearl two" I remember that from long ago. I made one pink scarf in my life when I was a child, then I got into sewing. Right now I'm into Icing, Elevating and Heel Slides! :rotfl: Not much of a hobby, but it's my life. I'll be so glad when my knee will bend because it can, not because I loosened it up. :gaah: Oh, and when I know where to place my legs... should I leave them straight on the bed, let them hangs, sit with them bent on the bed. I DON'T KNOWWWWW :what: It's so confusing! Every position comes with a time-limit and when you exceed it, you get Tree Trunk legs and Rock knees. :headbang: The kids over here play this game called: Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot! I don't know if you have it in the UK, but it seems like that's what my knees have been playing for a while. :groan:

Okay, enough gripping for today, It must be the weather! "Gray Skies are gonna clear up, Put on a happy face... and spread sunshine ALL OVER THE PLACE, just Put on a Haaaapppppy Face! "
Thank you, Thank you, I'll be all year! lol :rotfl:

Hi Sue,
Your blanket sounds wonderful. A challenging project broken down into bite sized chunks.
If you tell me what website it is I would love to have a look just to see what you are doing.
Hi bionicwoman 2 I would be so happy if I could just stay home forever and knit and sew and bake and generally potter.
Can't say I'm looking forward to going back to work. It will be in another 4 weeks or so, not right away. I'm just trying to mentally prepare.
You sound a bit blue today, hang on in there, it will get better. I am just past 7 weeks now and I am seeing big improvements.
Hugs to you both,
I will be thinking about you and your family tomorrow Sue,
Hugs Toothfairy x  :bicycle2:

Thanks Toothfairy. I'm okay, as I was typing yesterday I was just trying to find a comfortable spot to place my legs and that rant came out. :giggle:

Hi Sueeeeeee :bicycle2:

Will be with you in thought.:)

It be result/consult day. My sister is getting her results today from a biopsy and my friend/coworker is also having an ultrasound for a possibly serious issue. Best wishes to youmall. Sue you are up to bat first, probably by now you've finished meeting with the Dr. I pray he's given you a comforting plan/solution for you and your family to work through. :friends:

Thinking about you and your family today Sue. Sending you Hugs x x

Thanks friends. Also Josephine
Update....I felt very fortunate that all our children came with us and they found enough chairs for the 5 of us in the consulting room. Everything was well and kindly explained and expertly handled.
The lymphoma is low grade but in my case seems to be accelerating. I had the choice of going on a trial but it seemed I was being advised to start treatment asap which I couldn't do on the trial, as I have troublesome symptoms, so I'm starting 6 months of Chemo, 8 sessions starting on Nov 1st.
The Chemo, hopefully, is usually relatively well tolerated, hair thinning but not total loss (I've put that first, my hair is my total best feature as far as I'm concerned, I have a caring and long standing hairdresser to whom I adore going....glass of wine included!).
3 weekly cycles, diet needs to be carefully controlled...pretty similar diet to that for pregnancy nowadays...no live/active bacteria, hmmm, I like live natural yoghurt and blue/soft cheeses.
I'll be pretty much house-bound for 6 months, no exposure to illness/infection so no hotels, holidays, restaurants, swimming, cinemas, trains etc, although we can certainly drive out or walk out in the fresh air daily.
I honestly feel, having the TKR has helped me enormously in this......I've already had almost 5 months of operation and recouperation, realistically, I'm looking at another 7 to take me to possibly optimum TKR function, so 6 months of Chemo fits in, well you know, maybe it fits in!
I shouldn't have the pain/exhaustion of TKR that I now realise was probably exacerbated by Lymphoma.
I sincerely feel the support of the BoneSmart friends I've made here has made all the difference to this life-changing event as it's unfolded.
Sue or Dabber :)

Well, do keep posting. We may not be 'experts' in this field but we are experts in giving support!

I'm OK, I'm good.
Josephine love your avatar but I liked the black/red very much, so strong.
