lol! i need to workout my stress and anxiety but my body is just like i want to escape and sleep or nap lol really cant afford that i need to lose weight

Sweetheart, let the nap happen :) you won't lose enough weight in the next few days to make a difference at all. I understand eating disorder, and know you are a very energetic, high-revving woman, but ya gotta somehow rethink your position. Rested now equals better recovery, guaranteed! :) :)

oh trust me i will listen to my body when it is tired and take advantage of napping, napping can be nice! but not all day or all the time. i have all intentions of listening to my pt and dr. but i plan on being back at my gym doing walking or biking for sure and some upper body. yes i am an energetic person and keeping active (at a lesser degree for now) makes me feel good and calms my nerves. if people cant understand that please don't respond. everyone here has been so helpful and caring and i love it. thank you everyone!

so now another question though 4 more days as of tomorrow. ahhh! taking advantage of the anxiety and energy that goes with it. so, what is the deal with the leg discrepancy. i already have a shorter leg than the other like most do, but am i going to be lop sided and hip more tilted. it is so odd, my husband friend went for both hips replaced and came out walking like a penguin. not sure how serious his hip issues. he i guess split the femoral bone in half ouchy!!! all i need is to walk like a penguin. i limp around as it is. and look silly

I think you have miss understood people's intentions here. They do understand your high energy and your fears. You state you are listening to your dr and pt but the next statement is you are heading back to the gym. I don't want you to be upset post surgery when you can't get back to walking or biking or doing upper body work out right away. Please be realistic , you will get back to all your activities but not right away. I just don't want to see you set yourself back during your recovery.

Best of everything! Make sure to check back in when you are on the other side.

As far as I have heard, if there is a cause for LLD that's not just walking weirdly from the damage to the hip, it will be addressed during surgery. I think most LLDs are what they call "perceived", that is, they seem that way to the patient but actually are exactly the same length. When our hips don't hurt to use post op, we walk better and suddenly our legs feel the same length!
There is often a short period post op when the patient thinks things are worse than ever-- but it's just the swelling.
In the months before surgery, if I tried to stand on both legs with my feet together, I could not! The good leg dangled about an inch off the floor! And to me my legs felt the same length (which they really were, of course, but my pelvis was tilted from pain!). Post op the op leg felt way longer for about a week and a half, but I was able to stand, pain free, on both legs with my feet tucked right next to each other while it was feeling like that! No pain!! I was over the moon with excitement at that. :) :)

thanks for the response, just don't want to be a waddling duck lol!! so can others answer me when they started to walk if on a treadmill what pace did you able to start at. trying to see what i will aim for. 4 more days! ahhh! got to start packing the suitcase this weekend. watch me being a typical woman i will pack too much and not even wear half the things or use half the things. and i am aiming for just over night. oh hell yea! this gal doesn't do hospitals never did and never will! i am tough, strong, determined and gonna succeed!

I packed in a compartmented backpack-- it was perfect. No rummaging around, each compartment had its stuff. I also somehow wangled an extra bedside rolling table, so I had one on each side of the bed. You can never have too much storage, even if you're only there overnight lol.
I used my sleep mask and was very grateful somebody on here had reminded me that the frequent overnight nurse visits always have the lights on! Some very smart people had white noise apps on their phones, but I only had a stupidphone, so I made do with earplugs. Much of what I brought was homemade food, so I would have nutritious and tasty high fiber bites. to take my percocet with. I brought a six pack of prune juice, and drank three!
Only three or four more sleeps to go, as we say!! You are so ready!! :)

:scare::yikes:hi everyone, well 2 more days till the brand new woman with the brand new pain free leg. very nervous but i know i can do it but now my mind is racing more than normal. have to pack today and tomorrow and than clean the floors one more time tomorrow, hit the gym and treadmill hard today and tomorrow and than will do research the rest of the week to find work at home legal jobs. if anyone knows of any legitimate work at home job sites please share. i have lots of games loaded on my phone, though it kills my battery, crossword puzzles and movies to watch. even though i wont be laying around much after the first few days. i am a go getter but a lot smarter one, i have had so many other surgeries that i know when my body is hurting and tired that i do listen but its not going to keep me down when i have the go get pep!! wish me luck guys. scared right now! Monday at 1015 am. ahhhh!!!

You sound R E A D Y !!! Man, if I knew of any legit work-at-home websites, I'd probably be using them too! Maybe check them out for the Better Business Bureau logo? And run them by snopes.com?
Make a packing list, check it twice, and cross off 2/3 of what's on it  i mentioned somewhere that I packed in a student backpack-- I kept that at my side and often on the bed the whole time-- instant nesting!

I agree! I had very little with me in the hospital. Just some personal hygiene products. Didn't even have a cellphone with me.

@webbie73 I used my phone's alarm to keep me on the clock with meds! Also texted my kids etc. "If mom can text she must be fine"
