@Atlas_aus, for you the "proper forum" is the Knee Replacement Pre Op Area to start your own thread about your personal journey.

I have brought forward this month's list so that you can easily see who your surgical buddies are.

Welcome to our latest and all May Marvels!

    [IMG] [IMG]

Feel free post your surgery date in this thread, and I will add you to the list. However, please start a thread of your own in the Pre-Op Knee Section to post comments and share your journey toward knee replacement.

We want to share your journey with you so please start a thread of your own.To start a new thread, hover your mouse over "Knee" on the blue line at the top of the page for the drop down menu.Click on either the "Pre Op" forum. On the upper right hand side under the "Joint Replacement Awareness Day" banner, you will see a black rectangle with the words "Post New Thread" in white. Click on this, enter whatever title you want for your thread, but do try to keep it short and sweet, then tab down to the dialogue box and start typing your post which can be as long as you need for it to be.

By starting your own thread, you and your questions and concerns will receive the attention they deserve.

For additional help, look in the white heading under the blue, click on "Help & Info", then click on "How to Use This Forum". Lots of info there to help you navigate the forum.

I’m Carrie and I’ll be having at least a left knee replacement on May 14th. Headed over to the pre-op forum to make my intro post there.

    Left TKR May 14th.

Nervous because besides all the pain in the knee, there's also pain away from the joint that's significant and limiting. After 3 years of seeing a bunch of different doctors, PT's and other medical professionals, and trying just about every option that exists short of TKR .... no one is really sure what's causing that pain or what will fix it. The going thought is that it's referred from the joint. Knee is bad, so I still need the replacement, but if it doesn't relieve the pain outside the knee, I won't be that much further ahead.

Guess I get to lead the pack with May 1st. =P Had my first two TKRs in late 2017. T’was so much fun that I’ve decided to have revisions. Stupid pain and inflammation. >_> Will begin with my ouchiest (right knee) at OHSU in Portland, OR. Sure hope it works this time!

    Elaine

P.S. My thread can be found under recovery, though I’m also a preop-er.

Going in May 6th for TKR on the left side. Been looking forward to this for 5 years now. I think I'm prepared and my girl is taking the week off to help me once I get home. I've learned some valuable insight for recovery from this forum that I plan to apply to my situation. Thanks for all the folks that took the time to share their stories. Hope to do the same as time goes on.
