Hi, I am having TKR in left knee on April 24. I got my surgery date on Friday. I’m alternating between happy excited and fear.

Hi. I am having a RTKR on April 23. Not exactly looking forward to it but will happy to have it done. This is my second TKR - had a left TKR in 2013.

Feel free post your surgery date in this thread, and I will add you to the list. Start a thread of your own in the Pre-Op Knee Section to post comments and share your journey toward knee replacement. Here's the link that gives you the instructions you need to do this:

To start a new thread, hover your mouse "Knee" on the blue line at the top of the page for the drop down menu. Click on the "Pre Op". On the upper right hand side under the "Joint Replacement Awareness Day" banner, you will see a black rectangle with the words "Post New Thread" in white. Click on this, enter whatever title you want for your thread, but do try to keep it short and sweet, then tab down to the dialogue box and start typing your post which can be as long as you need for it to be.

By starting your own thread, you and your questions and concerns will receive the attention they deserve. For additional help, look in the white heading under the blue, click on "Help & Info", then click on "How to Use This Forum". Lots of info there to help you navigate the forum.

I don't know where to add or update this but my R-TKR for April 8 was postponed. I see my OS on Thursday to discuss rescheduling. I'm still recovering from the hardware removal surgery on Feb 6. It turned out to be more complicated then earlier anticipated. It has been a difficult recovery.

Hi, I'm due RTKR on Monday April 8th.
It will be my first time staying in hospital and first knee replacement. Had both knee arthroscopies., . right 2009, left 2013.
Put on referred list for both TKR last October.
First major surgery, first hospital stay..nervous, exited , scared all at once!
Pre Op was today. All ok.

My April 24th date has been rescheduled for May 29th. I saw my dentist and I need 4 extractions, 2 root canals and laser surgery for periodontal issues. I’m paying the price for my fear of dentists. I would advise anyone who is thinking of knee replacement to see the dentist before scheduling a date. My biggest fear is getting an infection
