Hi all..been awhile since I've been here. For the most part all is well. LTKR is fine. No issues with it. It doesn't have the range of motion that the right knee does but for 90% of the time, not a problem. Now the RPKR, that's still a bit of an issue. They did a patellofemoral replacement...
Dr came through... re-upped my Celebrex prescription and one for some 5mg percocets.
just in time too.. went out on a friend's boat this afternoon.. heading into the waves.. had a couple big slams coming down the backside of the waves... TKR was ok with it.. the PKR didn't like it so much.. on...
My fishing is done 2-15 miles offshore. 200-1500ft deep..most times this time of year the seas are 2-4'.. we will go 4-5.... once they get bigger than that.. it's no fun.
Hi Troops...
been a while since i posted, so started a new thread.
for the most part knees are doing fine. Except for not as much range of motion L-TKR has less issues then the R-PKR.
for a little back round June 2013 had L knee replaced and right knee cap done. 2-3 days in the hospital then...
Monday was my last day of therapy. Insurance company deemed that i had enough flexion and strength that more PT wasn't necessary. Gotta love their wisdom.
I had a Left TKR and a Right Partial (patella) Replacement on June 25th. i was in the hospital for 3 days and rehab for 12 (no one at home to help and 18 stairs to go up and down). While in the hospital i had the morphine pump, Polar Care ice cuffs, and the cpm that would be switched from one...
well.. in a few days it will be the 5 month anniversary. seems longer then that.
The Dr. is very pleased with his handy work. ROM on Left TKR is about 128 and Right PKR is 138. Walking is relatively normal gate. The biggest issue is change in elevation, ie: stairs/steps, some exercises in...
had therapy today. they have me do 'heal touches'. standing on one of those step-up exercise platforms(only one set of blocks), with one foot on platform bend that knee til the other foot's heel just touches floor, lift up and repeat. 3 sets of 15 on each leg. TKR knee (left) did just fine, PKR...
puppy is now 4 months old. Skigirl, the one in my thumbnail came from Missoula.
the cpm machine never came off of my bed when i was in the hospital and hardly ever came off in rehab. i pretty much used it 24/7
Linda..
not in great shape, desk jocky. go to work.. come home.. play with dogs.. fish on the weekends.. didn't do any exercising before surgery. used to ride horses and play tennis a lot.. stopped riding 14 yrs ago and stopped tennis 5yrs ago..
i have 18 stairs to go up and down to get to my...
in the hospital the 3 days.. their gowns and socks.. morphine pump and whatever pills they would give me. i didn't really care.. slept most of the time. 3rd day they did give me a suppository which didn't work, then they had me drink this stuff that seemed like salty soda water.. that did the...
ugh... had therapy today.. after all the normal warm up exercises, PT started his manipulations on LTKR.. instead of holding the flexion for 5 secs he did it for 12.. it's amazing how one can contort the body to get away from pain... it was not kick him in the teeth but it was sufficient for me...
Just was looking at my surgeon's bill, there was a charge for Plasma Rich Platelet injection that the insurance company didn't cover "not proven effective".
Anyone else's surgeon use this?
