    PKR 15 days post op

It seems that some partials turn into full knee replacements rather quickly for the reason you stated. Arthritis takes over the rest of the joint. There is really no age limit on total knee replacements. I had mine at age 43. Many more much younger.

    Revision TKR Makoplasty at 26

At over two years my knee doesn't make noise during normal activity but I can make it clunk quite a bit if I relax the muscles and shake my leg.

Need to lose weight before surgery

Intermittent fasting is not a new thing. It just has a fancy name now. It was how I ate when I was younger. One or two meals a day because that is what worked best for my busy schedule. It wasn't until I was older that I started eating more often because of the advise of so called experts that...

    TKR Motorcycle riding????

I think if you are careful and you feel up to it, shoveling snow would be fine at this point. I was shoveling snow and plowing snow on my ATV all winter during my recovery. My surgery was in the middle of November. Luckily I didn't need to worry about it until around 6 weeks into my recovery...

TKR 38yo recovery after 2½ yrs of pain and trauma

It sounds to me like you are doing pretty well at only 12 weeks. Especially compared to the mess you went through the last couple years. It can take many months before you can be working while on your feet all day without swelling and discomfort. At 10 weeks I returned to my job where I am on my...

    TKR Motorcycle riding????

I started going back to the gym at around week two. I only did upper body for lifting and the arm cycle for some cardio. I only went a couple days a week since stamina was pretty low at the time due to the energy it takes to heal. I started doing elliptical around the 6 week mark but not for...

    PKR IT Band Issues<

I have no information on the spider veins but 6 to 8 weeks is when I started feeling better and doing more. Hopefully you will start feeling a bit better soon. Just be super careful not to over do things on the good days.

    PKR IT Band Issues<

I had good luck with thigh high compression stockings from JOBST and Juzo. If you get the correct size and the correct amount of compression they are very comfortable and helpful in keeping swelling at bay. I went to a medical supply store to be properly measured. I started using them shortly...

@Timetolive Hello Janis, it's good to hear from you again. I'm glad your knee and Charlie are doing well. My daughter still comes to agility trials with me but she does not run Buddy. He is too much for her to handle and he keeps trying to leave the course during a run to try finding me. She...

    TKR Smarttoys recovery

@JJ65 there are quite a few people doing agility with their dogs after knee replacement. I returned to agility with my dog around 8 weeks after my surgery. It took about 5-6 months before I was getting around the courses really well.

TKR Clunking sound after a fall

My TKR leg also seemed a little longer to me for a few months after surgery. I didn't do any formal measuring. After a few months I didn't notice a difference anymore.

My OS does not necessarily think I will lose mobility. It's more me worrying about the possibility of losing some mobility and not being able to continue doing some of the things I enjoy. Basically the same worries I had before my TKR.

@Fire wolf Thank you Marie, I have been fortunate in my recovery and in being able to do the things I want to do. That is partly why I don't know if I should mess with it and possibly lose some mobility. Of course, starting over with another recovery doesn't sound all that great either. I...

@Josephine , do you know of any negatives using the implant with the center post? Less natural movement, any differences in flexion, etc?

    TKR Smarttoys recovery

So, it's been a little while since I did an update. My knee has been doing pretty well. I'm staying active with dog agility, walking the dogs, bicycling, playing with the kids, working 10 plus hours days and on my feet all day. I started riding motocross again but no plans to actually race any...
