16 days post-op......
I'm doing well....comparing it to the 1st THR I think I'm a little ahead of schedule.
- Off the pain meds!
- Sleeping on my back continues to be an issue....but a nap in the recliner every afternoon keeps me going.
- My outside walking has been reduced due to the rain...
24 hour update.......
Pain levels have been at 0-1!!!
Last time my epidural didn't work too well so this time they bumped up the amount of meds and I have had NO pain.......but the quantity of meds has given me an uncontrollable itch! They backed the meds down late last night and again this...
I had my Right Hip replaced on May 19th and met my maximum out of pocket with my insurance......so now I'm getting my Left Hip replaced November 17th (in the morning) for FREE!
I'm hoping my Left Hip goes as good as the Right Hip did.
I'll try to post an post-surgery update later tomorrow...
I'm back!
I will have my Left Hip replaced next Monday, 11/17.

I'm basically 1 week out from surgery and I think I'm doing well......

I think I'm doing well....only real problem is soreness and having to depend on someone to help me up every time.....just wondering how long it takes to be able to get up by myself.....maybe I need higher arms on my chairs?

Now that I'm home a little more clearheaded I can share some the highlights of my week.
No nausea at all.
Spinal worked ok but I needed more meds in it,and once we figured that out (12+ Hours after surgery) it was ok.
Did not get up on surgery day. On Day 2 walked about 50 ft......that was...
Surgery went really well!!!!!
Had a few issues with the spinal not providing me enough pain relief and me wanting to tough it out, but finally guy it worked out.
Got up yesterday and set up about 3 hours trying to clear my head...... Then went for a 50-60 ft walk.
Got to walk 150 feet...
@moms4tne
It sounds like I'm in the same boat with you....years of inactivity, added weight, and the other hip is just as bad as the operative hip so I'm expecting some additional challenges but I'm ready to begin my journey. My other hip will be later in the year.
@psychteach
Good luck to...
Leaving for Little Rock to spend the night for my 6:00am check-in.......surgery a few hours after that.
