@JonnyNight Hi Bilateral Jim here! Good luck on your surgery. I was in so much pain i loved it when i woke up and i had new hip and not that awful relentless pain i had for years. I drove after 7 days (Automatic) and back to work in 30 days. The only help i had was the drive to and from the...
@goblue61 Hi, Bilateral Jim here. You sound like you're doing fine. I'm originally from Michigan now in Oregon! Go Blue! You have a great start so keep it going. The only aspect of your journey that you might want to watch out for is the rehab itself. Like Josephine says hip do well on their...
@dannidb95 Hi, Bilateral Jim here! I just want to add some support for you as i had both my hips done together about 4 years ago. The big thing is, you've lived with that pain for 6 years, that has to wear you down in everyday life. As an ex-collegiate athlete i wondered what my limitations...
@Lea61 Hi, Bilateral Jim here! I am four years out and had mini-posterior. I used a cheap yoga strap to lift up my legs once i scooted up from the edge. I had no one to help me other than a ride to the hospital and back. You sound like you are positive in your post. Great, that's a huge part of...
@AJinNH Hi, Bilateral Jim here! I used the walker my first week as i just wanted to heal and not fall. My transition was to the Nordic Poles. From my first walk my gait was perfect in both hips. I have been an athletic trainer for 42 years and did my own rehab. i went back to work in 30 days and...
@Lucia631 Hi, Bilateral Jim here. I found using a yoga stretch strap was very easy and strong to help bring your leg up on the bed. Josephine is correct about trying to lassoo your feet. I got pretty good at it. Those Teds were something else. I just stopped using them and got some tight socks...
@mcopt Hi, Bilateral Jim here. In 2014 i knew i had to do something with my hips as they were more painful every week! I decided to get both done at the same time, everyone said no, you can't ect. I have been in the health field since the middle seventies and have been very athletic. College...

@dapplega Hi, Bilateral Jim here! Nice post, when i see someone that is on the fence i use one response. When your hip makes you say "Uncle" get it done! Good luck to you!
@Lerwick8 Hi, Bilateral Jim here. I had both done 3 years ago with the mini posterior method. I think you are going to be fine. I did this by myself at home and just took it as a vacation. The horrible pain was gone and i did nothing but walk and recover. I didn't do therapy and i drove to work...

@Josephine Hi, What a write up! In my forty years as a trainer and sports coach i have seen people create more problems by trying to exercise their pain away. It just does not happen that way in real life. My Bilateral hip recovery was just wonderful doing nothing but walking! Thank you!
