    TKR R TKR journey

Hello, and happy Thanksgiving to those in the US. Well, with all the cooking and cleaning (ie standing), my 5.5 month old knee feels stiff and swollen. Frustrating! Just wondering if standing and cooking ever feels easy and at what point for others out there?

Hello! Back for a 20 week update. I am getting stronger, and the right knee (surg knee) is already now actually better than the other which is kind of amazing to me because I know the right is absolutely not anywhere near fully healed. We went out trick or treating with our 11 yr old son and his...

Knee Infection* CABLAND's 11/13/2023 LTKR Recovery

Hi @cabland - I have a mini shelf too! I think it’s the edge of the tibial implant. It’s a bit disconcerting. It’s less obvious now that the general swelling has decreased a lot (4 months out).

Sorry @WFD - you must be so bored and frustrated. I’ve read your thread and am really hoping for you that this will all be a faint memory soon.

Hello! Thought I’d write a 15 week update. I’ve been able to do a few things this week that were milestones and made me really happy. The first was taking a two mile walk. It felt so good. A flat fireroad with nice views. The next was walking down our steep hill to town and back with my son to...

Can you feel your scar when you kneel? That’s what bothers me the most - seems like some suture knots underneath aren’t dissolved yet.

TKR Thank Goodness I Only have Two Knees!

My only comment about the ER is that sometimes it’s less busy in the morning and much busier as the day goes on…although of course that’s also unpredictable. A person with chest pain in an ambulance will always go first obviously. When I’ve faced this choice on a weekend, I’ve tried for early...

Mine is coming and going too - frustrating! 14 weeks here.

Glad to hear that - mine is both in the middle of the back of my knee and another place in the back lateral. Sometimes it happens every step I take and sometimes it calms down. Seems better in the morning than the afternoon. My bodyworker is able to get it where it’s tender and says it is prob...

The clicking is ok - I can get used to the implant making sensations and sounds I thjnk. I was using clicking for ease of wording - the thing that stresses me is actually the snapping that I have too and feels really yucky and occasionally painful. I hope this is also the category of it will go...

Thanks so much Layla! I appreciate you! 13 week update: -ROM hovers at 130-133 which seems completely fine and better than pre-surgery for the last few years. I use a heating pad and an icy hot-like CBD cream every morning for 20 min and then do my flex/ext stretches. I might do this forever...
