Hi all!
I went to surgeon on Monday and my bloodwork was positive for infection. I am now waiting on an appointment to have fluid aspirated from knee and sent for cultures. If that comes back positive, then another 2 surgeries, one for a spacer again and then the revision for the second time. I am keeping my spirits up hoping that it is negative and we can finally find out what is going on with this knee. Pain is back with a vengeance, but have pain pills and will continue to ice and elevate around working. Thanks everyone for listening to my complaining!!! Hoping for the best!!

Hi everyone!!
I have an appointment tomorrow with the surgeon. Last week had fluid aspirated from left knee and they could only aspirate around 4 cc as there was so much inflammation that it was very hard for Radiologist to see anything. She said she did not see any infection in fluid, but was sending for cultures. So I will find out tomorrow what my next step is. Thank you all for your caring and concern! After appointment tomorrow I will post my update. Hopefully it is just inflammation and PA said possible heavy duty steriods to clear it up!

Also ROM is now terrible!! I am not even at 90 and extension is awful. Can not even come close to a straight leg. Dr. stopped all PT until I see him again. Although I am still doing normal daily activities but the pain is always there. Heres hoping that tomorrow will be the answer I need!!

Happy Saturday!
Had appointment with surgeon on Wednesday. Fluid aspiration came back negative!
Dr. is still unsure of why knee is getting worse, he thinks it is due to severe scar tissue after the 4 surgeries. He made comment of it after last surgery that there was alot of scar tissue. He is sending me to see a revision specialist. As he said, a second set of eyes is never a bad thing. Have an appointment on the 24th, so will keep you all updated at that time.

Hi all!!
Saw revision specialist and the femoral part of implant is loosening. No cement left there. He is also not convinced that there is no infection. SO.............. surgery is scheduled for July 20th. Hoping this is going to be my FINAL surgery for this knee. Trying to keep upbeat since there is not much else we can do here. Knee know hurts most of the time and surgeon wants me to only take Ibuprofen and ice. Only 5 more weeks!!

I will add you to my prayers. I am sorry you've had to go through all of this but it does sound like they've figured it all out.
There is definitely a lot of support here and I hope you know that we are here for you so you don't have to go it alone. It can be a very frustrating and depressing journey and while not everyone has had the experience you have had, we have all been frustrated, depressed, physically and emotionally drained.
