Thank you for your reply. I totally agree that he is a very likeable chap. He did my original surgery on this knee. How long is it since you had your original knee replacement? This one was done just over 11 years ago.Glad to have you back. I’m gratefully watching your thread, as I too am facing a revision after 3 years of pain. I have been to see Philip Chapman-Sheath too, he has a very good reputation and does a lot of revisions. On top of that, he’s a most likeable fellow, and listens. that’s why his waiting time is so long.
Like you, I am terrified of revision, that it could leave me more debilitated than I am already. So I am waiting a bit, chickened out for the time being. Like @Jockette, I feel that it’s a case of better the devil you know, until things get too bad to tolerate.
I hope that your surgery happens soon. Do keep in touch.
Where did you have your original TKR’s done? Philip Chapman-Sheath did my left one. It was brilliant for the first 10 years or so.That’s bad luck for you that you need a revision after 10 or so years, and indeed that you started on this journey at that age. Mine were done three years ago, one is not perfect and the other a botch, with a loose bottom component, in addition to rotation and alignment problems. It gets me around, but like yours, misbehaves for days on end. The good days are still painful, but seem like heaven compared to the bad ones.
Hopefully you will be back on the recovery forum soon.
Finally I have a date for my revision surgery. It has been scheduled for the 18th September.
I must have made a mistake. It’s 18th. Sorry. Not long to wait now. Finally I have a date for my revision surgery. It has been scheduled for the 18th September.
@Toothfairy, you say that your surgical date on the September Team Thread is September 16, 2024. Was it changed? If so, I'll change it on the signature and in the Team Thread.
Thank you that is really appreciated. You know we'll be rooting you on!
