We have Netflix, and you’d have a lot of programming to choose from! I explored some of the “oldie’ channels and found one I liked. Had a lot of fun watching Westerns. :heehee: Lots of people like the Hallmark channel for its easygoing movies.

I got my scheduling phone call today. I report to the hospital at 0530 on the 27th with a 0730 surgery time. [emoji15] I was kinda looking forward to a later start time, so I could get a few more last minute things done around the house. I guess this is it!

@Hood1980 best of luck with your surgery. Mine is the same day, I am to report at 8:45 am for a 10:15 surgery. My hospital is almost an hour away so I’m glad my time is not earlier.

Thanks @Diva68. 530 is early, but I'm taking it as a positive. I live in the D.C. Suburbs, where rush hour traffic is brutal. It shouldn't be too bad at that hour. My poor husband will have long day though. Hopefully he can find a chair to sleep in at the hospital. [emoji42] good luck to you too! Praying all goes smoothly for you too!

.Thanks @Hood1980! I do understand your rush hour traffic, I lived in that area for over five years. Luckily I lived and worked in the District so I could avoid the Beltway and I-95 as much as possible. If your husband can’t nap hopefully he has a good book to read.

I requested the earlier surgical appointment. My was 7:30, too. I really liked it. I knew my OS would be fresh and it gave me all day to recoup. My ride was also able to go to work after dropping me off, so it worked well all around. Another another big plus...you don't have to wait all day before you can eat or drink something!

@sistersinhim sounds like you had a good experience with early surgery. Did they get you up and out of bed that afternoon after surgery?

Yes, they did. It was no problem, except I was a little light headed, so they let me go back to bed. Later that evening I walked to the restroom in my room and over to the window. These were done only with a pt on each side holding me. I asked if I could let go of the walker and put all my weight on my new knee and they said OK. It felt wonderful and strong!

Good luck on your surgery. Another plus about going early is that your doctor won't have gotten backed up by other surgeries. I was first the last time and have requested that again. I had to be there at 5:30 but it didn't really matter. I'd been awake since 3:00 anyway! I did miss my morning caffeine fix, however.

Keep us posted.

This time tomorrow I'll be at the hospital! [emoji15] I am so scared I couldn't sleep last night...probably no use even going to bed tonight!

What a good year, 2018 will be! You'll have that brand new knee! You will be fine if you follow our recovery guidelines. And be sure to not let PT force your knee at all. That will just increase swelling and pain. You remain in control of it at all times!

Happy new knee year. I remember getting up, with help, and using the walker to the bathroom that afternoon after surgery. That new knee was solid under me !

I've made it to the other side! Lots of aching and swelling but not too bad.
