You're correct that because you're working your employer's insurance is your primary and Medicare would be your secondary insurance. That is quite a cost and you would be right to question it or at least contact your insurance company about it. They have ways of checking into the billing.
That said, the "billed amount" is never what an insurance company pays, so it's a pretty meaningless number. All insurance companies and Medicare negotiate lower costs with providers and only pay that. This number is the one you really want to see.
