MUA Tigz's Lessons in Patience

What does ^ mean? And why do I keep seeing it in thread titles?
This has been bothering me for a while. I know it can mean "I agree with the previous statement" when it's used as a comment, but how can you agree with anything in a subject line?

Hi @tigz
Below is the explanation that Jaycey posted, from Josephine, at the time when Jo was having a lot of trouble getting on line. She posted this to Jaycey, who posted it for staff (we asked the same question).
Simple answer is it’s me! (Jo) I had to do something to keep track of who I’d given my questions to and when they’d answered them! That’s all. ^ means I’ve left the questions and < means they’ve been dealt with. It helps me avoid giving them to a member a second time!

i hope this helps, both you and anyone else who was wondering.

Thanks for getting back to me on that @Celle! Makes sense considering the number of folk she's helping!

One good thing about this knee...hubby hasn't asked me about helping with the snow. I feel a bit guilty, but not too bad. [emoji9]

Ha! I haven't been asked to help shovel either. You have more snow than we do. We have about three inches of ice. I don't remember it sleeting so much in all my life. Better to be safe on these new knees.

Ice is terrible! I think I'd take all this snow over the ice!

He used the snow blower twice on the driveway, sidewalks, and to make a path for the dog. He was possibly going out again but has decided to wait for sunshine.

My son is a 911 dispatcher and got stuck on the way to his sister's apartment (which is much closer than home). She and her boyfriend came to his rescue and got him unstuck.

So glad I didn't have to work this weekend... I would've had hubby drop me off last night and spent the weekend at the hospital.

Knee is doing OK... I've yet to get used to the weird feeling I get with barometric pressure changes.

The PA turnpike near Donegal is in bad shape. There are vehicles that have been stuck for over 24 hours and may still be there a second night. Take care!

Popping out of a long lurkdom for an update. :)

*Finally* had my one year visit today. He wanted the follow up between my surgery date (4/27/15) and the MUA (7/1/15). My flexion was 125 and he said my extension was much better than pre-surgery (didn't mention a number).

A year out I can put this into perspective - it's a long recovery! Be patient! I can finally do stairs with ease. I still have occasional swelling when I'm on my feet a lot, but it's not bothersome and goes away very quickly when I'm off my feet. For the most part I don't think about the knee... but I tell ya it takes a while to get to that phase.

As an aside my surgeon had a tendon tear in April and only last week started seeing patients again. He can't operate until September... so I'm very glad I had my surgery when I did!

Good to hear all's well. I'm just over a year out after Rtkr and will be having a manipulation at the end of the month. Have read your thread and am hoping that my mua will be as successful as yours appears to have been.

Hi @tigz. I'm so glad things are going so well. It's nice to hear that some of us June folks have made it the year and are doing well. I'm still waiting to hear the results of why I'm not in the place you are. I'm not awful but not where I want to be. Still waiting and hoping....

Hey @momweb I hope the new doctor gives you a fresh perspective on what's going on. Probably a long couple of weeks for you!

Hi I just caught up on your thread. I'm so pleased to read all is going so marvellously. Well done :yes!: I love reading your kind of thread. It gives hope to all!

Please take care
Love Ann x

Hi, Julie! So good to hear things are going well! It is along recovery for sure, but I'm so happy the MUA was successful.

Since I broke my postfast :D elsewhere I thought I'd give a 1.5 year update.

Most days I don't think about the knee anymore, up stairs, down stairs isn't a problem. The only issue I have is when I'm on my feet most of the day at work and it's a bit stiff (probably swollen) at the end of the work day. The only reason I realize it is those darn steps out of the hospital. It doesn't take much sitting to calm it down though and even by the end of the drive home it feels much much better.

I never did break down and buy a stationary bike. I still use my pedals while watching tv.

Anyone reading that's not too far out from their surgery I refer to the title of my thread... BE PATIENT! :D

AWESOME REPORT!!!
Most days I don't think about the knee anymore, up stairs, down stairs isn't a problem.
It can still take some time---I had some soreness and stiffness periodically, too---but now if I get a bit achy, it is not the implants but some soft tissue issues.

Hi, Julie! It's great to hear from you and how well you're doing! I think of you often and wonder how you're doing?
