@Lseven. You are right....six years in Guelph did make me a vet!
And one of the reasons I appreciated the "Giddy Up" is because my surgery is 75% motivated by my desire to ride horses again.

@pkjlane. All the best for tomorrow my surgery day partner. I know you will do well and I will look for you on the other side.
I also wish you the best of luck @abusby. I'm sure we will both be much happier when we get to the other side. There will be a few struggles at first, but remember, tomorrow begins the rest of our lives. Good luck!

@Lseven I am not Canadian (an Aussie) but spent a year living in Alberta when I was 15 and just visited again this summer for my best friends wedding.
Wedding was in Edmonton and my friend lives in Spruce Grove.
It was so good to get back there, I wish it wasn't so far and so expensive to visit. 24 hours to get there and my poor hips were worse for wear. Lucky I am small and can sort of curl up in the airplane seat!

Candice. Rheumatoid Arthritis. Diagn.1999 at 12 yo. From Victoria, Australia. Planning to book sequential unilateral THR July 2016 :)

@dandy candi, I can imagine the 24hours was tough. I went to France a bit over a year ago and was pretty worried about that 13 hour flight. It went ok which was big since I was doing a big bike trip. We had a nice summer this past down here I'm sure Edmonton was nice (as it could be) too. That's a little edmonton shot that's always important to add in between cities.

HI @busby hoping you are doing well post op, with your pain controlled. My hip had 2 prior femoral osteotomies on it and its so freeing the pain relief. I was born with bad hips and CP that affects my left side, and it was my L hip that was done. I need to build up muscles, as I spent 2 yrs on the couch and never left the house prior to surgery. Now I am looking forward to getting my life going again. The pain relief is amazing!! I was able to cut back on narcotic pain meds by 75%, still need a bit for my back. I look forward to reading about your recovery. Its important to keep your mind active, it helps to stave off the blues. Sometimes healing can be like watch paint dry. Each week we do gain strength. Ive always wanted to see our nations capital! Maybe one day I will. Hey @ Lseven, Edmonton has its charms, especially our river valley, I lived there 30 years. I am sure Cowtown has its supporters ha ha. Its nice to be by the mountains!
