I have felt the best today than I have in several weeks! I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but hopefully this will continue.
I looked up my lab results from last week and they are all within normal limits, except my SED rate was slightly elevated (32, should be 25...so no biggie and not surprising.) Had labs drawn today for comparison. I'm thinking the cipro is working!! I'll see how they're trending when the next results are posted.
My nurse came today and took my blood, and also changed my dressing. I'm not allowed to do it myself, due to their policy, but I am able to undo the old one and unpack the old foam. None of that hurt today!! It feels better and it looks better. I think it looks a little more gapey, and the center is pretty deep, but the tunnels are closing and the wound bed looks great. I just hope it keeps getting better. The next step is to go to packing it again with Dakin's and gauze, which will be very freeing. Hopefully another few weeks.
Starting to move around a bit more and using the cane more often. I'm not as nauseous from the cipro today and I hope it stays that way. I have about two more months left to go and I hate feeling sick every day. It also seemed to make me feel really sore and achy, particularly my knees. I need to get back into a good PT/exercise routine to strengthen the muscles around the left knee (and the right, when it's ready). I am hoping that I can go kayaking this summer. I see my OS on 2/10 and I'm going to have him check for a Baker's cyst behind my left knee. Feels like there may be something going on back there!!
I may even apply to a few jobs in the Buffalo area. I've decided that I want to go back to child and family therapy, so I'm not going back to my old job. At least I'll be able to get unemployment once I'm deemed fit enough to work and looking for a job! Hopefully, things are looking up on the job front. Child therapy is my calling. Job=self-esteem!!
Next step....driving!! That will do a whole lot more for me than less pain. Driving=independence.
That's all for now. Just waiting for Scott to come over for a few hours. We found some new shows to binge watch. We started Longmire last weekend and I finished it this week, it was so great (kind of sad I have to wait for the new and last season!) We also started A Place to Call Home from Australia. I am on season 2 of Rectify and just started Dexter. We'll see how it goes.
Hope you are all doing well and healing. Have a great weekend and go Atlanta!!

Just got perspective...I put Dakin's in it with sterile gauze.
Still a little bit of a tunnel, but it doesn't go back too far. The middle looks like a valley, but the sides are closing in nicely!!
Perspective. You can see the swelling is down too.
