THR Tashia's Hip is in Recovery, WOW!

Thanks diane, I want to thank you for supporting me. I need to put things on the wall and I am pretty well finished. You are right about the car. Once I get my wheels back I will be hitting the road. I do have to say, Not driving I have saved a bundly, I looked at the price of gas and almost screamed. When i stopped driving it was in September. Since then I have gone thew almost two tanks and thats all. The weather is in the 70s today. We are to have a couple of cold days then Spring has Spong I think that how it spelled. All the trees are coming out and Spring in the air. I hope everyone had a good day. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:
 
Hi Tashia, I am checking in on how you are doing. Have you decided on what kind of car to get? I know the prices of gasoline has really increased the last couple of months.
I just bought myself another pick up last Sunday which runs on diesel, so will have to pay the higher price. But, I hope my gas mileage will increase from my old 1 ton truck. I do have my regular car which gets over 30 MPG, so am ok with that one. I usually hang on quite a few years to my cars. Had my last PU for 14 years and my current car since 2002.
I hope your weather is warming up. We had good weather yesterday with a laughing sun, but today it's been snowing all morning.

Thanks for the kind words, it is easy to support you as you are a sweetheart and have returned the favor and are a huge support to others as well. Hope you are sleeping well. I have been sleeping for 5-6 hours at a time which is great for me. PT today and I'm calling for an appt. to get my hair cut...haven't been to the salon for over 5 months:hairpulling:You asked me a long time ago about my inserts for sneakers...because of the nerve damage my foot is swollen and numb so I need to wait a while longer but the new sneakers are working out great. Talk soon.
 
I"m back after a couple days of company. I got to drive some cars. IT FELT SO GREAT. Oh No I am yelling. But I think you understand how great it feels to drive. I am back to recovery because I did overdue it. I did get to go to a movie and got more sewing stuff ready. I have decided which car I want now I just have to get it. I also got some stuff for sewing so I'm closer to start. I did so tax today. :arghh:But life goes on. My legs are really swollen because of all the walking and working in the apartment. So this weekend is Easter for me so I will be taking a easy and a very special day. But for those who don't celebrate Easter I hope you have a wonderful weekend. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

So pleased you have chosen your car, is it a van to help you with transporting the sewing?

Also pleased you are close to starting the sewing again, life is returning to normal darling :)

How lovely that you got to have a bit of a drive, no wonder you are so happy. I can't wait until I get back to driving.

Today is a very lazy day. Its almost eleven here and I just got up. Needed the rest. Could go back to sleep but I need to move around and get my left knee from hurting. Jaycey, This afternoon I went to the doctor and he told me I need another new knee. The left will done in about four months. I wish it was sooner but the surgary is one of the best so I must get in line. Thats ok I will have the apartment all done. and will have a car so I can feel like normal. And have some fun before surgrey. And get the swelling down on both knees. Happy Easter to those who celebrate and for those who don't have a wonderful weekend. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

So sorry you have to have your knee replaced Tashia. But sounds like you have the right surgeon. You are in the right place for support through that journey as well! Feel free to start another thread in the Knee Pre-op area!
 
Hi Tashia,

You sound very positive about your new knee. Getting out of pain, even though you will have recovery to deal with, will be good. I hope you keep posting on hip area as well so we can stay in touch.

Timing does work out and it is wonderful you will be able to have your apartment settled and have your new car before the surgery. Will they take you sooner if they have a cancellation?

Diane, I really haven't tought about it but now that you have asked the question, I guess it would depend when. i want to get it done so I could get on with it but the tought of surgrey is scary. I guess I am going to have o think about it. I want to do some playing before going under the knife. I have a sewing camp coming up and I want to go. So we will see. i see I am having some fear so I will open one of pre-surgrey but I will still come here. After all I still want to hear from you guys and I need the surport also. Really a lazy day. Sleep all most all the day. My pain is starting to gear down, thank goodness. the swelling in the knees are even better. However my hip replacement side is hurting. I hope I haven't hurt it. I will really have to keep my eye on it. If its not better by the middle of the week, I might think about having it looked at. The hip is reponding to herbal wrap that I warm up. Hope everyone is having a special weekend and staying safe. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:
 
Lazy day for me also Tashia. Watched movies, but did put my new registration in my car window and twisted L side and hurting a little bit now. Took a pain med and feel a bit better. Glad your knees are responding well, it is hard though to be patient when there is so much we want to do. Good luck with the hip, hoping it's nothing.
 
diane, I'm glad you to are having a lazy day. Same goes for you Sandy. When I said today was lazy, I was so surprised that I sleep most of the day. Need to eat better or my tummy will be unhappy again. Had enough Easter candy now I need to get rid of all that sugar. This week I hope to not do any doctor appointments. I am finished with the pain series so I have free days this week. Plan on going out for lunch without a doctor appointment thrown in. Need to hang pictures this week. No I will not do it myself. I am having a friend help me. All this surgrey has really humbled me. I am learning how to ask and that is so hard for me to do. I am donating my car to Cancer society so they can sell it and get some money. I wish they had a site like this one. I did find one but its not the same. Maybe because I feel that I belong here and not there. Please understand I am not knocking them, I just feel better here. its good to feel like you are in a family and get the support and make new friends all around the world. I know it is scary to have to have the other knee done and the other hip... we will be here to support you that is for sure.

I think it is good that you plan to have some fun before the next surgery, you so deserve it. And won't it be good that you won't have to think about selling a house or moving again.. That is all behind you.. Now you can spend tine nesting and getting ready for that sewing camp.. You have told me about that, it sounds like so much fun. I have a friend who goes off for two weekends a year with her sewing buddies and has so much fun as I am sure you will. I think from memory, you told me it was near a lake?

I had a very sleepy weekend. Can't believe how much I sleep but needed it. The pain is starting to get under control. The hip hurts a little but not half as much thank goodness. Hope to do more on apartment this week so I can get closer to having everything done. Now to get the car. Working on that to. Been thinking about a dog. Will see how that comes along. Tasia, sounds like you are doing well at listening to your body. I will use you as inspiration :) Can I just say I CANNOT WAIT to be driving again. My doc is on the conservative side and does not want me to drive till 6 wks. I figured I trusted him to do my surgery, so I will trust and follow his guidelines, though I am itching to be mobile again. Only 1 1/2 wks, I guess I can hold off. Keep listening to your body and happy healing. -Cathy
