THR Seeing the Light!

It'll be okay.
Do a wheelie for posterity.

@lovesstars Just catching up on your progress. I read somewhere that hipsters should be adding 15-20 calories x your current weight to our daily caloric intake. Nice! Also, I think that my 30min rest 3x day keeps the energy drain away. I have a 2hr bus ride and a 3hr flight next week. I have signed up for wheelchair so that I won't have to stand in TSA line and will get to the gate without being exhausted. I was told to wear my compression socks also. They'll be off the minute I land! It will be a long exhausting day but I plan to take it easy for a couple of days. I'm taking advantage of all the traveling services and any help offered. Take care and safe travels. Sounds like you have a good PT. Progress:thumb:

Hi @lovesstars
Glad you're willing to use a wheelchair at the airport.
I hope you have a nice weekend, a great week, and wonderful time in New York.
Time with our kids is the best time spent.
Safe travels! Let us know how you fared upon your return.

Hey pal, how are you doing?
I hope you had a great time visiting your son in New York.
Would love to hear how you navigated the airport and all. Hopefully it wasn't too much of a pain.
Really wondering how you've been doing over the last week and a half or so.
Shoot us an update when you have time during this crazy busy season.
Wishing you all things good!
@lovesstars

Hi there!
doing ok!
So...New York was good. I did uber around quite a bit to save my hip....but walked a remarkable bit as well....WITH the cane. I subsisted on caffeine to keep myself from getting awful energy drain (which didn’t hit until I got home, so that was lucky!). The most important part about that trip was that I got my confidence back. (Hooray!)

I saw that great PT today. He wants me to start doing lunges to arabesques to start to open up my hip joint a little bit more. I am concerned about that leg and thigh (mostly posterior) which is STILL so very swollen. My feet are only fitting in shoes ½ size bigger. Yeah, it’s the lymphatic system being a little slow. Not sure what to do about that except to move, drink water, massage it and wait.

Tomorrow morning flying to my mom’s in LA. Yes, wearing compression socks. Yes, taking deep breaths....and YES, bringing husband with me to help.

:yikes::yikes::yikes:

Just harder walking on soft sand.
Can be a little rough on muscles...
BUT worth it!:egypdance:

Hope your holidays are sweet, @lovesstars
:tree lights:

@lovesstars I have experience on sand! Bring your cane. Looser sand is very challenging and you'll be sore after, footwear helps. Hard packed is better. If you are only walking a short distance to stick your toes in the water, it's all good! It's so good to get a change of scenery! Best Wishes for a wonderful Holiday visit.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed New York and best of all got your confidence back.
Off to LA, now. Quite the traveler you are! Wishing you a safe trip to sunny Cali, I hope you have a wonderful time. Re: walking in the sand, change of gait may bring sore muscles and could tire you out. I'd enjoy, but not overdo. Let us know all about it upon your return.
Happy holidays!
@lovesstars

Thanks! I brought the cane with me. Even if I am sore and need Tylenol, don’t I also need to use those teeny muscles? I think so!

Yes, I agree, just don't want to see you wear yourself out. I'd go slow.
I'm sure you'll enjoy. I'm jelly :heehee:
Stay safe, have fun!
@lovesstars

Beach-walking update: I am using the cane. It feels like I am climbing a mountain. I am using all sorts of teeny-weeny muscles, surely. Also — I did 20 minutes of water walking yesterday in pool. 20 minutes is HARD! I was all kinds of sore this morning from using all sorts of water-walking muscles.
HURRAY FOR STRENGTHENING TEENY MUSCLES!

Have a great time in California @lovesstars! Sounds like you are having a great time and being mindful of the teeny muscles!! Enjoy and warm wishes for the holidays!
:box:

Great news! Take it slow, you'll get there. I hope you're enjoying the warm sunshine and having a relaxing vacay
away from the cold. Although, we are sunny with a high of 40 degrees on tap in the Upper-Midwest today. I'll take it, I'll take it! :SUNsmile: :happydance: Going to go clean my vehicle inside and out, hang a wreath :wreath: and plant an outdoor pot for the front door :chris-win:
Have a good one!

@Layla 40 degrees! ALMOST SUMMER! (Truth be told, I am wearing wool here too. Thursday I was water-walking in a ski hat. I looked stupid but — I am sure I do most days anyway).
