I'm sorry.. I know you are frightened.
I know I certainly was when I was told I needed both hips replaced at the age of 53...I felt much too young and I kind of liked my original parts.
Unfortunately, as much as I had soldiered through many years, blaming it on back pain and ignoring an increasingly worsening limp...and finally unable to get more than a few hours of restless sleep.
Pain will stress you out worse than anything!
I am 3 years out from having my hips replaced simultaneously and I lead a healthy, happy life and feel at least 20 years younger.
My hips feel absolutely natural...and I have a very physically demanding job that puts them through their paces.
The recovery was just that...recovery from surgery but I DO remember my hip pain being eliminated immediately.
You have many more weeks before your surgery, and I really do think you have to find a way to distract yourself sometimes from "all things hips". Pop in and get some reassurance but try not to think about it 24-7 because that will make you overanxious.
Try to replace any negative thoughts and concerns with Hope and think how good you are going to get....
Good Vibes coming your way.
