Can I thank you Americans for sending over such a great team of sportsmen for the golf, which ended today.

I've spent the best part of four days sat in front of the telly, gobsmacked at an absolutely brilliant sporting event. All played in a superbly gracious sportsmanlike manner.

You can keep the soccer world cup, the ashes and superbowl, they aren't a patch on this event. My nerves are well and truly shot with the tension.

Can't wait until they do it all again in two years.

Who won? It's not important, because everybody did!!!!!!

What a nice compliment, Tykey.....thanks!!

Now I know why your side of the forum has been so quiet....you've been busy gobsmacking!!! (I just LOVE that word!!) :rotfl:

Well our Tiger has been having trouble with his putter this past year!!!:hehe:

Doug, Doug, Doug.........:D

I tried, really tried to play golf. I even had clubs made for my height. I just don't have the temperament for it. Plus, you don't get to tackle or hit anybody....

Well, heck...what fun is THAT!

I never wanted to get started with golf. For one thing it takes a lot of time and money. And everyone I know who plays is like addicted to the game. That just didn't seem like fun to me. I'll probably regret it some day, but for now I'll just be a spectator. I do like to walk the courses, though, because they are so gorgeous around Kansas City. However....you have to sneak in to do that. They don't allow anyone on the course who isn't playing....even if you stay on the asphalt trails. I can understand that at a private course, but not the public county-owned ones. And hubby and I were actually encouraged to leave from a course we were walking while vacationing at a resort. Heck, we were spending money there....the course had refreshment carts every 2 or 3 holes and we'd stop and buy a drink at each one!!

Out of high school we always drove golf balls, had fun and it was good exercise. But always said that I will never chase that little white ball around a course. All of that changed. Have not played in a few years but will probably start again now that I have new knees. Its a good chance to get outdoors with a bunch of your friends; and yes the beer carts, by the 18th hole...who cares. If you can't hit it over the lake..skim it like a rock..it does work..on occasion. Prettiest course I played was called Sultans Run(semi-private) in Indiana while on a business trip. Thought I was playing the course in Augusta. Best part it that it is a game you play against yourself and hope to have fun in the process. Will try to get out in the spring.

For me, that's the problem, and why I don't play, only watch the experts.

After the few rounds I did play, I came back angry and annoyed that I was rubbish. I prefer my activities to mean I come back happier than when I went out:whis:

So I'm going to stick to my competitive dog walking, where I always win:egdnc:

Dad enjoys golf on the Wii, not exactly rider cup... but he enjoys it:P
