Hi again Bernie. I read through more of your thread. We sure have a lot in common with health issues and depression. I need to do the gratitude thing you wrote of. I feel uncomfortable saying too much about my depression on here after all that isn't the focus I realize. I also have anxiety which is off the charts right now. Take care. I am thinking of you.
@hopefaith, say whatever you want, whenever you want, that's what this place is for! I agree, we do seem to have a lot of things In common. I'm not surprised your anxiety is high at the moment, you're going through a lot of tough stuff! Please be kind to yourself. I hope your day is going ok. I'm having a weekend of builders bums and enough rain to seriously consider building an ark! Take care love xxx

Hi @dogwheels, very kind of you to stop by :) I'm glad your appointment for the chest clinic has come through. At the very least you need a drug review and hopefully by seeing the experts you will get the help and advice you need.

Nothing interesting re builders, just new guttering, fascias, soffits etc. It needed doing badly and they have just finished today so it all looks much bettering and is now maintenance free so hubby is happy!

How's your knee doing at the moment? You must be frustrated not being able to return to your job. I've nothing to report really, which is good in some ways as it means nothing dramatic is going on, but recovery is so slooooooow! I'm still elevating and icing every evening on both. They still both have that horrid tight band feeling (when will that ever go) Im still having trouble with my hamstrings, calf, back and hip. I'm still on tramadol & paracetamol. I'm still having trouble getting any bend past 95/100.....And I'm still impatient ;).

The good news is I do feel like I have a bit more energy these last few days so that's good :)
Xxxx

Oh @cafecortado I think the above post is for me not dogwheels lol x bless you x

Yes I'm chuffed to bits to get a cancellation. I could not believe my luck x frustrated does not even begin to describe how I feel. It's awful being stuck and not being able to drive. That's my incentive to keep reducing the meds!

I bet your place looks lovely that kind of work always makes a place look finished and tidy. I love it x

Im glad to hear that you are ok and have more energy xxxx woohoo!!! Xxxx

@cafecortado Popping in to say hi. So kind of you to miss me. I need to go back and read the crochet story. Sounds like something I need....to laugh hard. I am okay, much better day today. I am so curious about the different names for different meds. Do you know what the equivalent for paracetamol is? (I don't think that is the correct spelling.)

Hi @cafecortado - have seen you about on here, but I have been busy with daughters birthday etc, so I have not been lurking about much. I hope that it has been a good weekend for you, rather than one where the knee got the better of things.

By the way, I love the new avatar - what a lovely couple you are! Some people just seem to 'match' - I don't mean they look alike, they just seem to 'go together' and that certainly is the case with you two.

I was really sad reading about those children that your friend adopted. Like NM27 I just cannot understand how people can be so cruel - there are times when I wish the old 'Eye for and eye' etc, was meted out in punishment - see how they would like a taste of their own medicine! Thank goodness there are such good people like your friends. I had a friend a long while ago who was a House Mother at Dr Barnado's Children's Home, and several of us visited her there quite frequently. We were commenting on the somewhat odd behaviour of one of the boys, and without batting an eyelid, my friend simply said: 'Well it's not surprising, he saw his father kill his mother'. You just never know what goes on and what people have encountered.

Well no PT for me this week, I am winding down and going every 10 days at the moment, really just to address the muscle stiffness in my calf and thigh. Intend to do a bit of walking about if the weather is OK, bit of shopping and if the forecast is good, pop down to our other place for the weekend. I better get some stair practice in before we go as the other place is over 4 floors - eeek!

Glad things are plodding along with your knees - goodness does this give you a lesson in patience, or what??

Take care Bernie and talk soon

HI @hopefaith - I'll catch up with you later. Just to say that our Paracetamol is your Tylenol.

@cafecortado Popping in to say hello. Hope your day is going well. Mine are all over the place. Some are okay some are horrid. I wish I had more faith. I beat myself up over that. I feel I am too honest on this site. I am whining, I know. Sorry. You are a very kind person, so I guess it feels safe to vent here.
My very good friend is coming to pick me up to go find shoes for my son's wedding. They need to be black, I need to stay upright on them and they need to not have the marmie look. I think it's going to be a challenge!:heehee:
Take very good care,
MaryJean

Hi @hopefaith, did you manage to find some shoes? I haven't been able to wear nice ones for sooo many years due to knee and feet problems. I've sent you a message, hope I've done it right as I've not tried before!

@dogwheels, aww thanks for your kind words re my avatar. I hate having my photo taken, I only see the bad stuff so it takes a bit of courage to put one on so I really appreciate your kind words. What a sad story re the child in the children home, how on earth can a child ever recover from that!
Unfortunately I have similar stories from my time running the Leeds inner city charity I set up and also lots of horrific stories from Brazil. It can be a cruel world, but then you come across some others who are so kind and giving it renews your faith in mankind!
I hope you're not too worried about your daughter and can get some sleep. Take care love xxx

@cafecortado Yes. I found shoes. My friend spotted them. They are very comfortable with some bling on them, quite fun outing actually.
Yes, got your message and returned one.

Hi @cafecortado how are you doing? You're always around but not stopping by! Are you all right? I miss our chats. Your avatar is lovely and @dogwheels is right you do seem to match.

How are your knees healing?

It would be lovely to hear from you, honestly it would x

Please take care now

Ha ha @Nana moon 27, I was writing to you when you were writing to me :) how cute :). Thank you for your concern, I have missed you and it's been a frustrating couple of weeks! Thank you for your kind words, re my photo, I HATE having my photo taken and always think I look hideous. Funny that you think we look matched, although I've known hubby since I was 13 and started going out with him when I was 17!!! Thank you for stopping by, much love xxxx

Hi Bernie - you are sounding great! Sorry you had a tough couple of weeks but I hope your time in the caravan is fun! If I miss one day here I am lost! I am seeing my OS next week to start getting ready for knee 2. Take care!! Xoxo

Hi @Jozilla, thanks for your kind words. We're new to caravanning but it's so relaxing. It's only about half an hour from our house ha ha as it's part of a long term plan to spend more time in our little house in Spain. So I took hubby to work today and will pick him up after and take him back to the caravan. Within 5 mins he's so relaxed which is good as his job with addicts involves a lot of stress! When do you go about your second knee? Go for it girl and keep us informed. I'm just starting to see that there is a brighter future ahead, with two strong pain free knees! Not there yet, but getting there :) xxx

I am so glad you are getting there! I am planning sometime in September for surgery. It took me about five months to get my energy and blood back to normal levels. We find camping so relaxing too! Ours is a little over two hours away so do not get there as often as I wish! Great to hear you are doing better!! Yes!

Hi @cafecortado - oh Bernie, poor old you - a killer migraine. It is horrid how sometimes you just get one like that, which comes up, resists all medication and knocks you flat.
Still I am glad that you have spent some enjoyable time at your caravan, and have used up oodles of Costa's Wifi managing to catch up on here. We missed you! If my latte and poppyseed muffin go up in price soon, I'll know who to blame!
Thanks for your concern about my daughter - she is typically quite stoic about it, but really needs all the facts from a reputable and reliable source, in order to make her own decisions. The professor she is seeing is an expert in sensorineural hearing loss, which is what they think she has. Trouble is he looks just like Dr Yousef Khan in Eastenders if you ever watch it (the evil one who had been married to Zainab and was killed in a fire a while back). Ha ha - like mother like daughter, as soon as we knew his name we googled him to see what he looked like - and both burst out laughing at the likeness.
Hope your knees are doing OK - as you will have read, I am stair climbing for Britain here at my other place. Its lovely here but so good to go back, just to be on the flat for a while.
Must go now - have a great weekend and talk again soon.

Love XXX
