Mornin' everyone from sunny (but decidedly chilly) Florida, and a Happy New Year to anyone who didn't catch my entry on the Party thread.
A cold front passed through here yesterday and the max was only 56F. Today is forecast a high of 69 and then back to the mid 70s thereafter. It was actually warmer in Portsmouth that in Miami yesterday! However, the sun continues to shine.
I thought I would share this with you. We thought it was beautiful.

There are just 4 of us left here now from the peak of 11 over Christmas and 2 more leave tomorrow. We will then be down to Darby and Joan until we depart next week.
It has been a marvellous holiday after the traumas of last year and good relaxing preparation for No 2 on 1st Feb.
Christmas lunch was a challenge, cooking the full roast dinner for 11 with limited facilities. The oven we used for the turkey was 75 yards away up a flight of stairs in the accommodation my daughter and family were using - ours wasn't big enough. However, we coped and had a wonderful family dinner, albeit a little later than planned!
NYE was great. We went to downtown Delray Beach where they close about a mile of the main drag and just joined in with the locals. Sue and I didn't get to bed until 2:30am and Keith and Laura didn't return until 4:30. We paid the price next day, though. I had AF for 12 hours which was a bit scary.
The Mustang had to go, unfortunately, as it just wasn't big enough in the back when Joanne and fiancee left and returned the second rental car. It is advertised as a 4 seater but is definitely a 2+2 (i.e. 2 adults + 2 children). Shame as it was great fun to drive. I was given a Corolla as a stop gap and then a Chevvy Impala which was awful and did 20 mpg. I have now got a 2.5L VW Jetta (Golf with a boot), which is good to drive.
The new hip continues to be (virtually) pain free but I'm popping pills everyday to cope with the discomfort in the old one. First thing in the morning it is bad but then eases up the more exercise I do. We have had lots of walks on the beach now but I've decided sand between the toes has it's drawbacks with a bad hip - you can't reach down to remove it. It really has been wonderful to be able to walk around, sometimes for several hours, without the serious discomfort that I used to get before hip No 1 was fixed.
Must go now as the rest of the family have now surfaced (well, it is gone 10am here).
After tomorrow, I should have a bit more time to catch up with everyone else's stories.
TTFN
