Rhiannon, What a beautiful horse you have. Looks like you love each other very much.

8 weeks PO tomorrow!

I had my check up on Friday, had to travel to london which meant I used a crutch but I try not to use it otherwise. Everyone is very happy with my hip, my ROM is amazing. However my knee is very painful and is not feeling very stable. So I'm now awaiting an MRI for that and then potentially being referred to a knee specialist. If my knee didnt hurt I would be pain free and so happy! But I'm back to pain when I'm trying to sleep and when I've driven a lot. Has anyone else experienced this?

Well, if it’s your latest replaced hip, that being your left…then yes, others including myself have experienced the same. The knee can be manipulated rather aggressively during the dislocation process which can cause discomfort and lingering pain afterward. This is a common complaint after THR. Try icing it for awhile and see if it helps. Also, sadly with arthritis, there’s a chance your knee could be affected also. Hopefully not, but it is a possibility. Aside from that you seem to be doing really well! I’m happy for you. Let us know what you hear after the MRI. Fingers crossed whatever is causing you pain, resolves soon. All the best!

Its been a while!

But thought i should pop on just to let you guys know that im doing very well now i have recovered from the second hip replacement :)

8 months post op tomorrow! That has flown by! I work in retail so im stood up for 35 hours at least a week and i still walk across muddy fields to see my pony a few times a week and the hips are going strong!

I was recently off work with covid and the complete rest made me notice that i no longer have any pain in my legs when im lying down, i kept thinking my legs had gone numb but that was in fact the feeling of not being in any pain!! It was such a strange (but very comforting) realisation and reminded me of how far ive come :)

Happy Eight Month Anniversary, Rhiannon.
Thanks for stopping to share such a positive and encouraging update. I’m happy for you.
I hope you continue to notice progress over the next several months and have a wonderful 2022!
@Rhiannon89

That’s wonderful news. Sometimes it takes a while but finally feeling healed is a momentous occasion. I know I felt great gratitude and so blessed. It is truly a miracle of medical science. Many blessings to you in 2022! Pat.
