I believe I'm getting enough fluids, each day I drink approx. 3 to 4 (24oz) cups of water or green tea. Part of my exercises is some calf stretches. No blood clot, no heat or redness on the calf.

I have been putting a heating pad on the calf, maybe after the heat I'll try the tennis ball. I have an extra one after putting 2 on my walker....lol

Thanks for all the suggestions..

These sudden changes/pains/aches really can be frazzling. Keeping my fingers, toes but not legs crossed that things improve with your calf cramps.

I am 4 months post-op and have noticed lately that my replaced knee is warmer to the touch that my regular knee. The only problem I am dealing with at this time is a damaged nerve from the surgery. Is this something that is totally normal or should I say something to the Doctor about it?

Never hurts to mention it. Do you have online access to him? You could just sent a quick email

Totally normal. It's a sign of healing going on below! If it ever gets hot, that's a different matter!

I'm at about the same point as you are with my second TKR and my knee also has times when it is warm. This is totally normal. I find mine does this when I push a bit and it gets a little swelling going on. If I want to cool it down quickly, a short stint with ice works for me.

I am 5 months post-op today. I have to say my knee feels great, but the previous tightness I was feeling has been diagnosed as soft tissue and nerve damage. How does this occur? The PT that I am seeing is using a method called "Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization". The web site is www.ASTYM.com It seems to be working. I have tripled the length (feet) that I can walk without pain. Of course I've been told that it will take several months to start to feel better but I'm hopeful. I'd love to hear if anyone else has used this method or what has worked for them. Thanks. :)
