TKR Post op 12 weeks TKR

@poppypony. RTKR 9/16/24. I also got a new stiffness setbaçk a week ago on the outside & lower from the knee. No new activities to trigger it, just woke up feeling like an old school wooden ruler got inserted alongside my knee joint. Wish we had ßoft tissue x-ray eyes so we could see what's happening. Dfid a bunch of scar tissue just stitch tissues together? I àm doing occasional massage in that area, hoping to re lease whatever it is.
It is all very strange isnt it, we try our best and self diagnose what is happening. Good luck to you

@westiemom , oh thats not good, you take care, wrap up warm and go easy. Yes have a rest from exercise when you feel unwell.
I was at the GP Monday to find i have a nasty chest infection….
Onwards and upwards. We will get there.

@Layla thank you for your help and kind messages
I wish someone could tell anyone post op, where the balance is between too much exercise and too little, too much rest and too little. Its really hard to know…
I do think one of my problems has been working at my desk from day 4 after surgery, as self employed and need the income.

That's a tough one, poppypony. My best advice is to listen to your body. Mild soreness isn't uncommon at this point, but if there is pain or swelling, you're likely overdoing it. Aim for balance, which I'm sure you're doing, rest when needed, but avoid long periods of inactivity. Take regular breaks from your desk to walk and stretch if you're able. I hope you have a good week! :thumb:

@poppypony

Well today I'm back using my walker, which is really depressing. But it does smooth my gait out which will help in the long run. I'm elevating, icing, and wrapped up in blankets and the fireplace roaring. And my toes (in socks and covered by 2 blankets are still cold). It's a very ugly cold day here so just doing some laundry and reading. Leftovers for dinner so that's easy work.
So sorry your illness is a chest infection. I didn't have an infection, just a really bad cold. Even that wore me out more than normal. Keep warm, drink lots of hot tea, and take it easy. I buy Typhoo tea from Amazon to drink - I got hooked on it during a trip to the UK. Much more "tea" flavor than the old Lipton's I used to drink.
