I also think it is too widespread to be the dermabond, I have hives up to the top of my leg! I am a nervous wreck that it might be some sort of infection, don't see my surgeon again until March 8th.Well, that could be due to almost anything. Maybe even the skin prep used for the surgery.
To me it looks a bit too widespread to just be the Dermabond
United StatesCan I suggest that you consult your regular doctor? He/she will be able to tell you if it is a generalized allergic reaction and possibly suggest some treatment that reduces the irritation.I am a nervous wreck that it might be some sort of infection, don't see my surgeon again until March 8th.
United StatesI am doing fine now, went to my dermatologist today, he said it is nothing to worry about, gave me some cortisone cream to put on it and said just leave it alone. It has nothing to do with my knee, I actually have the bumps on both knees, he thinks it is just a skin dryness problem. It definitely seems to be getting better.Do not be afraid to contact your GP at any time during your recovery----they can probably get you in and can get you advice faster.
I am hoping that this reaction disappears!
The scar will flatten but there is no time scale. Everyone is different, even on the same person. Just let nature take its course.how do I get them to flatten and how long does it take?
They will flatten all by themselves, as time passes. Some of the lumps and puckering are due to the internal stitches holding your tissues together. As those sutures dissolve (and you heal), the lumps will flatten out. You don't have to do anything except be patient.my knee looks great except for the areas that have to flatten down along the surgery line, how do I get them to flatten and how long does it take?
