Fantastic Ann, wigmar, sounds like you are well on your recovery journey. Feels good to walk without the bone on bone pain doesn't it? Don't overdo it though 1.8 k at 2 weeks is fantastic, but is quite a bit. So pleased your Doc was happy with your progress.. Yep, agree with you.. I wouldn't try changing the bed linen yet.. :)

Do remember though that there is a lot of healing happening under your incision and that takes as long as it takes.

Massage gently with the Vit E cream, that is the collagen forming and then breaking apart as you exercise and as the soft tissue goes through the recovery process. This is normal :)

Sending hugs and love from the mainland xx email on the way:)

Hello Poppet, and others. Have had my six weeks check today, all good. Having my right hip done on 21st of November. Looking forward to it. All done and dusted

Hi there Ann wigmar, I must apologise, but I am not getting any of my tags so sorry for missing this.

I read on Tibs that you have your date for hip number two next month, how wonderful... You go girl.. :) talked to hubby and Tassie is on the travel agenda eventually, so hope to one day catch up with you and yours and Tibs... That would be great :)

Love from the mainland x

RichardRobins, the post before with the tag from Ann is an example of me not getting the tags :)

Hi @ Poppet, I was starting to worry about you. You are most welcome to visit and stay with us here in Tassie. I am sure we could organise to meet up with Tibs while you are here. Excited about my op, physio said I will have to take it a bit easier this time. Having trouble with sciatic pain in my back at the moment. Hope all is well with your jobs. I am having a couple of weeks LSL at the moment, then three weeks back at work before op. :kittykiss:

Hi there Ann wigmar... Now wouldn't that be something.. The three Aussie hippies getting together.. Tibs.

That is very kind of you, we will look forward to it.

Take it easy when you go back to work for the three weeks, we want you in tip top condition :)

Email on the way :) hugs xx

Hi Poppet, really going to baby myself, need all my strength for recovery. Will be cooking food I like too, was only worried about freezing stuff my husband liked last time. :spin: :dancy:

Jolly good wigmar, sounds like a plan.. Lots of nourishing food..

Nite nite.. Take care

And you Poppet, it's raining here so will be nice to listen to. Only going around the outside of the supermarket :)

Good morning wigmar, did you get much rain? We had heaps of wind... Have a lovely day :)

Good morning Poppet, yes lots of rain and it has been very windy too. Sun is shining now. You have a lovely day too. :dancy:

Hi Ann wigmar how are you Tassie girl? ... Need an update hon xxxx

Hi Poppet I am try to get myself organised, three weeks from this Thursday till op. This time I am put full meals in the freezer, veges and all as hubby didn't feed me veges last time. Have become sensitive to gluten, can no longer eat bread as it blows me up and gives me tummy pains. Daughter is the same. I am also trying to lose some weight using my fitness pal since my last op. It allows me 1200 calories per day. I have lost over 6kgs so far. Liver Dr told me I had to lose weight. Counting calories has worked for me before and it is great having the free my fitness pal. My daughter is using it as well as she put on 4kgs over winter, she is a Zumba instructor so I don't think it will take her long to lose it. As for me I really need to lose at least another 18kgs so will be a long term project. Will be great to be able to get out and walk with both hips done. Not looking forward to going back to work this week. My hip has gone down hill in the last couple of weeks, locks up in the recliner, meds are helping me sleep but I feel constantly tired. Have had some family commitments with sickness of 4 relatives as well. Did most of my Christmas shopping today. Physio said I will have to take it much easier this time as the other hip is not healed yet, it certainly feels much better than the other one. Hope you are well and that your garden is growing well. Hope also that your work has settled down for now. Christmas is coming fast. Lost my dad on Boxing Day last year and mum in May so will be sad for us this year. Two of my sisters are still unwell and we are wanting to finish emptying my mum and dad's house so we can sell it, all very difficult really. Will eventually sort out. This is quite an epistle sorry. You did ask me to catch you up though. Will let you know how I go at work, just have to remember not to spin around. :yikes: regards Ann

Hi Ann, wigmar I am definitely not getting my alerts, but went hunting for you and spotted you online.

I am home on carers leave with hubby who has a severe chest infection, so will send you an email tomorrow... So much to talk about.. Hang in there darling, just a little over three weeks for hip #2. Imagine by Xmas you will be well on the way with your recovery..

Hugs my dear Tassie friend x

wigmar can you try tagging me without a comma or a full stop to test it for me please honey..

No I didn't get your alert, I suspect it could be the full stop at the end. Either way I have reported it. Thanks anyway Ann :) wigmar

Wonderful news for Tibs :)

How did you go back at work Ann, was it today ?

You are going through a rough time, but we are here for you and you know that I am sending hugs and love everyday from the mainland xxx

Of course it was inevitable, I woke up this morning with a sore throat and swollen glands. Dosing up with natural remedies and hoping it is just viral. We are both still off tomorrow and then back to work on Thursday.

Take care my Tassie girls ((( hugs )))

Hi everyone, including Poppet and Tibs everything went well, Dr is pleased, have been out of bed three times already. Have been falling asleep all day off and on. Leg is feeling a little dead at the top, anaesthetic will wear off tomorrow I reckon. Had a nice meal and a nurse just made me a milo. Still on oxygen. Will post again tomorrow. Hugs from Ann

Hi there Ann wigmar ... Ah my true Aussie girl with her cup of milo... What pain meds do they have you on Ann?

Again thanks for the email... I am coming to Hobart for my second THR.. You had better warn your OS.. Hahaha...

Sleep well tonight honey :)

Not having anything but panadol now Poppet. Wow coming to Hobart we have spare bed :) hugs Ann

Sounds good... Ann... Must admit my left hip has been playing up all day.. Going out in sympathy with you and Julie Tibs
