I feel your frustration but 9 years is way too long. I’m so sorry. You will see all of my issues below. Can you find a revision specialist? I can’t believe your insurance dropped you. Are you able to get insurance now? It took me several years to find a revision specialist but when I did, they knew exactly what was wrong. Unfortunately I continued to have problems, not sure I ever knew exactly why, but now my latest knee replacement is good (2020). But due to all my surgeries my ligaments loosened. So I wear a knee brace alol of the time and indefinitely. But no pain. These folks helped me immensely through all of this. Good luck and hope you can figure out what’s wrong! Don’t give up.

It would be worth getting a second opinion. We can help you find a revision specialist if you tell us your location. You can PM us the information of you prefer.

I’m sorry you had such awful PT and were never able to recover properly. My PKR is not good, either, but I’m managing ok, so i do have some idea of a poor outcome.

Thank you for your reply.
I now live in Rockford IL 61109 - previously from Chicagoland.
I did much research to find the best surgeon, highly recommended and respected. He did residency at John’s Hopkins, teaches at University of Chicago but he let me down.

Here are some revision surgeons you could consider for consultation in Chicago. I suggest you go there instead of someone in Rockford.

Thank your for your reply.
Berger doesn’t accept Medicare. He’s the rock star of orthopedic surgeons. (George W. Bush flew in for the day for tkr with him.) Back then his fee was $20,000 cash! - probably more now.
Della Valle also doesn’t accept Medicare, not sure of the others but financial and logistical problems prevent me from traveling back to my home town anyway. I’m an elder orphan without resources - herein the main problem. I’m pretty much limited to lesser third tier doctors/hospitals. It’s a depressing situation.
