Had my lab work drawn and have both good news and bad news. My labs are for the most part improving so my ID doctor discontinued the Rifampin and I will continue on the Keflex until the end of the year. The infection is either resolved or in "remission". The problem is my liver enzymes are elevated...dont know if this was caused by the Rifampin or the Voltaren or the Tylenol. Because of this I have stopped the Voltaren and Tylenol until I can talk to my OS. I dont think there are any pain meds that arent metabolized through the liver. I didnt realize how much better these two meds made me feel. I was actually starting to feel normal again. So I am back to icing and being less active....this has set me back at least 6 weeks. ID doctor thought my labs would improve in 4 -6 weeks.....I hope she is right. 2 steps forward and 1 step back!!! Just trying not to get too frustrated.

Quee-Knee you are very strong. What mg of Keflex do you take each day. I just feel so terrible every single day. I have a bad feeling.

Hi BarbieJ I take 500 mg 3 times a day....ID hopes to have me off antibiotics by end of year which is much more promising than her original thought of possibly a life time. I just do what I need to to survive....this is not going to beat me and I hope you can find the same strength within you because I know it is there. I do it not just for me but for the people that love me and all the care and concern they have shown me throughout this ordeal. I am woman!! I am strong!!!! do you hear Carol Burnett's tarzan call in the background :heehee:

You are my inspiration. I dearly appreciate that you are explaining this to me. When I can I will try your roar. I wish I could come over and chat. Your friendship is important to me.

I am feeling so horrible. I have nausea every day and my skin itches and burns everywhere. It has been 24 days since I took my last Keflex for the cellulitis and 10 days since I took my last Cipro for the UTI. I can walk a very limited amount with a cane.
I am trying but my body is losing this battle. I do smile and try to be as cheerful as is feasible. I just hate when people ask how I am doing.
I purchased two pairs of cotton yoga pants. I cannot wear any other fabric because it is too painful on my skin.

It sounds like you are on enough Keflex to make you feel good.
