Lovetowalk.-yes my started with the cane too. I am going back to the walker. I hope it doesnt hurt more. Let me know please if being very light with the cane is better. This is upsetting me. Thank you for answering me

I am trying to be light on the cane and walk heel to toe. I am trying to be very balanced, slow, and gentle. I thought I would be walking without a cane by now, but that isn't the case and I do need the aid. I get a sore knee on the operated leg, too so I am increasing only by minutes at a time and just trying to listen to my body. Be well and be gentle with yourself.

Lovetowalk. I feel the same exact way. My knee gets sore too. I thought I would not be walking with the cane either. I feel like I am going backwards. I think I do well when I do heel to toe and walk slow but I forget to do that and start limping and such all over the place. No patience.

@moms4tne & @brooklyn......I had to use one elbow crutch for some considerable months after THR due to a limp. Walking indoors holding the counter posed no problem but when walking longer I limped badly & felt like the muscles would not hold & felt pain in my back. I'm sorry to say it was about 6 months before I had no limp, etc when walking unaided ....but I can walk without limping & without pain now, so worth all those cautious months. I know it's frustrating & everyone else is ditching the walker, crutch, cane but hey...it all comes good in the end! And dont forget in the first 4 weeks @brooklyn you perhaps were on stronger or more pain meds so you didn't feel the back pain. Hope this helps a little....Chrissie xxx
