Mike, could the shorter stay be due to the anterior vs. posterior surgery? I am starting to believe it does, and I am changing surgeons and surgery just to have the second hip done anterior.

I had posterior and was in hospital (surgery on Wednesday) and discharged Friday - 2 days and walking and doing stairs. :)

Just checking in, got an appointment next week for pre admission. Last time that happened with my other hip, I was in for operation within 2 weeks. Does any one take tramodol for pain? I believe a lot of people can't take them, they work for me.

Tramodol is the most effective pain killer I have taken (for this hip issue). Tylenol has no effect whatsoever. Aleve takes a long time to work but it just barely takes the edge off the pain. Ibuprofen is the same, but maybe faster acting. I resort to Tramadol (have to take 2 as one has no effect) maybe once a week.

Hi all, well finally got a date 30 June :happydance::dancy:

Terrific news my Kiwi friend...

Thanks @Poppet looking forward to it this time. They are trying to talk me into the injection to spine, but I told them I don't want to know anythink till it's over, want to be out to it over.

Terrific news on getting a surgery date, Mike. And not a terribly long wait, either. Good Luck.

Hi Mike, @Mikeb - I had a spinal with a light GA and insisted with my anesthetist that I didn't want to hear, see your smell anything.... it did a brilliant job.

Best wishes Mike xx

Hi every one just a quick note to say had my surgery 30 June. In hospital for 3 days now at home recovering all is good

Sounds like everything is going well for you Mike. It's a big relief to have the surgery behind you.
