THR Leg length discrepancy after THR / Physio & exercise in general

Oh no, so sorry you fell and needed more surgery.
Have you discussed your concerns with doctor?

Hi @myglasshalffull I haven't discussed my concerns with my doctor yet. I see my surgeon on August 12th for my post operative check up so I'll talk to him about it if my ankle is still swollen. From what I've read, hip revision surgery is more complex than a primary hip replacement and therefore the swelling can be more pronounced. Also my surgery was complex and quite a challenge for the surgeon. I count myself very fortunate that I am upright and mobile with no problems initially both ankles and feet were swollen but it's now just the operated side so hopefully things are starting to settle down

Your swelling remind me of my experience post bunion surgery. I know that's a completely different situation and surgery but compared to others my swelling seemed to continue a lot longer than others. Every time I was on my feet or even just sat up. I experienced similar with my new hip. If I rested it was fine. Always worth checking in with your surgical team but sometimes the body just sets its own pace. Maybe you just need a little more rest during the day. If you swell up rest, elevate and ice.

I'm 4 months post op and still get swelling if I overdo it. It's less frequent but a constant reminder.

Are you elevating correctly, @Firecracker? It's important to be "toes above nose" to get any benefit.

Unfortunately, in June this year I had a fall which resulted in a fracture of the stem of my left hip replacement! I had a 5 hour operation to remove the old stem and cement and replace them with new components.
I am so sorry. :console2:That's a lengthy surgery that you endured.
Please provide a date of the Left THR Revision so we're able to add it to your signature. Hopefully some dedicated elevation will help with the swelling.
Best Wishes for your follow up on August 12th and in your recovery.
Take care! :)

Definitely doing toes above nose three times a day with plenty of water to drink too. I'm worrying that my foot may never go back to normal!
