[Bonesmart.org] left knee replacement recovery
@willow ##!, I have moved your latest post into your own thread where it properly belongs since it is about your recovery. Posts in other members' threads should be directly related to their recovery, their issues, and their questions.

We like to keep our members' recovery posts all in a single thread. That way it's easy for us to go back and read your history before responding to a question or concern. In addition, the thread becomes a journal of your recovery for those who come along later and want to read about you. So, please post in this thread from now on when you want to give an update or ask a question. If you have questions or concerns that need an immediate answer, please tag an admin, a mod, or other members or all three.

I don't use my cane anymore. But I certainly used it up until 3.5 months when I went anywhere. I felt confident enough last week at 4 months to leave it in the car and walk through the mall without it. As llong as I didn't carry any packages. Saw my surgeon for 4 month follow up. I wanted to address the raised lumps over the incision line. The incision line is well approximated and fading , but the lumps are bothersome and rub against my slacks causing irritation..it appears to be rope-like.He feels that it is not a suture granuloma as diagnosed by my family physician but an allergic reaction to the type of suture that as used. Otherwise ,I am supposedly well on my way to recovery. He did give me a script for cortizone ointment and advised me to take as vitamin E capsule ,prick the capsule and rub it into the incision.
