My two cents worth: Sites like this help, for a number of reasons. They reinforced the fact that there are many others like you, who are having the same experience. They’re great sources of insight for people who have had similar experiences.

Even though my career work involves teaching, training, consulting and coaching many people, I know that I also need help and the wisdom of others.

I think there’s some universal truths that are echoed over and over and bone smart. 1) The human body is miraculous machine that is pretty good at figuring things out on its own, particularly when it comes to healing 2) The experiences discussed on the site affirm that you will have all sorts of pain, including some to make no sense at all, at times that make no sense at all for reasons that don’t make sense to us. And in time , they will resolve themselves, without our worries helping them along! 3) Ironically, even though we’re called “patients” - our patience is, more than not, often lacking.

Time is the ultimate healer. The older I get the more I want time to slow down, and I can’t limit that to just the good stuff. So I let the time pass and try to learn from the healing experience, not rush it.

Two and a half months ago, when I had my first revision surgery, the thought of three months of recovery was a lifetime. Now I’m 3 1/2 weeks away from my implant - and I’m starting to think about going through all of this once again. I choose let the days pass and enjoy the present.

Finally, the stories of endurance and fortitude on the site are amazing and inspirational. Everything works out, because it always does!

Try to embrace your challenges as someone else’s dream.
