Thanks everyone for the great advice. I learned from Bonesmart to tell them before I go the machine so I do not want to hold up the line.

Lucky me got the cold my daughter and husband have had so this should be an interesting flight.

Thanks again.

Would like to give an update on my progress a year later and encourge everyone who is recovering. I had my year check up and the DR said my new knee looks great. I only had 100 ROM before the surgery and I am up to 118 ROM which I am very happy with. I joined my old gym and I am able to swim (a mile last week), do yoga and walk on a daily basis. Everyday I do PT on my own for 10 to 15 mins 2x a day and I know this has helped me alot with the stiffness, gaining ROM, etc. My only complaint is that I still swell but I realize if this is my cross to bear, so be it.

This time last year I remember feeling like I would never get here. The nights of not sleeping, the stiffness, pains in the knee where I never felt before. I would read about others and how they were recovering so much faster. I would feel discourged and ask myself if I had made the wrong decision to have the surgery.

Keep bending your knee, doing your PT, and don't compare your recovery with others. Keep your mind/body in a good place because you will recover in your own time and be glad you made the journey.

Joy, thanks so much for taking time to come back to BoneSmart and post about your success. I have swelling too now and then, but I think that is a very small price to pay for a knee that functions well and is basically pain free.

I'm sure your post will mean a lot to those who are awaiting surgery or early in recovery. There is a wonderful life after knee surgery!

I agree - it's so important for 'lost' members to report back once in a while.

Thank you, Joy! So pleased to know you are doing so well! :thumb:
