It really is a blessing - try and replace those nerves with thoughts about all the wonderful doors this will re-open in your life. OK, a few weeks of inconvenience but a whole new world ahead after that!

Oh yes ma'am. I'm at work for 24 hours today and every step is getting harder and harder. I can't wait for this to be over and on the mend. I'm a mom of 2 busy little ones, am a medic full time and own my own photography business. I'm just so ready to feel like me again. To be able to exercise and go to the ball field this summer!! So I will be double bionic come March 9!!

Has anyone ever had a suture abscess? Thursday will be 6 weeks post op and I have two place on the top of my incision that are open. Doctor didn't want to put me on antibiotics but I was already on them for a sinus infection. There is no pain, a little drainage from them on the 4x4 I keep it covered with. No odor, no heat, no redness or streaking. No fever. Surgeon saw a picture of it and wasn't too alarmed. Just wondering how long it takes for these to close on their own?

Hi - am sorry to hear this and will tag @Josephine who is best placed to advise. She may find a photo helpful. Hope this clears up very soon.

We see queries about this from time to time. In most cases these things clear up on their own. Josephine may have some advice but it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Hope this eases quickly.

Thank you. I searched the forums backwards and forwards before posting the question. I didn't find anything here the even mentioned it. Thanks for the kind reply. I hope it heals on its own.

I didn't hear from her. I am starting on Bactrim. A friend of mine is a doctor and since mine is out of town, she prescribed it for me until his return. It seems to be getting better somewhat. Just don't want it to tunnel. I am a medic and am exposed to so much Mrsa and yucky stuff, it concerns me enough to ask while he is out. I'll keep you updated on the progress in case anyone else asks you about it. Thanks again for trying to help. Have a blessed rest of the week.

Glad you got some medication sorted. Your concern about infection is certainly warrented - infection at this stage needs to be addressed. Please keep us updated!

I sure will. I am awaiting a call back from the surgeon now so fingers crossed I can go see him today. Thanks for everything!!

It's ok. I did see the library but the issue I was having didn't look like anything I saw in it. I actually went to the surgeon and spoke to them. Doing wet to dry dressings as it is healing finally. Thanks
