Revision THR Hope for 2020, Revised THR

@Fit4Family I don't know if this is at all useful ... but sometimes I think writing a letter of complaint is more important than sending the letter of complaint. Which is not meant to discourage you from sending a letter.

It's just that composing such a letter can itself, in my experience, clarify thoughts and feelings and ultimately be empowering.

I'm wondering if you would feel good consulting multiple revision surgeons about the next step.

Both are good suggestions @Going4fun I think writing a letter might help. Thank you.

I think I will decide about meeting more revision specialists after Monday. Given my current state I don’t have much time to explore lots of alternatives. Pain has me pretty limited. My husband is going with me again. Several friends are getting names from their surgeons if the need arises.

I love love love my recliner.:roseshwr:
Pals are we...bought from used furniture store, wrong color for decor, no real good place to fit in my small living room, My Bestest Friend during recovery.
Just something to make life easier for ME...
Christmas is coming...so Maaaybe Santa is listening:santa-dance:

Ok that Santa is the cutest. :santa-dance: Maybe he is listening. @Mojo333

My husband said he will go and look. With a measuring stick, my darn long legs may make it tricky. Mine are longer than his and he is 6’2.

Making recovery easier for YOU was extra important for my double hippie pal. :carols:
Managed Sleeping in two sets of three hours last night and feel more sane. Got our tree and look forward to all the trimmings today. xxxx ❤️

Aren't these emojis fun? Christmas trees twinkling in the corner always makes me happy.
:plugging-in-xmas-tree-smiley-emoticon:
Glad you got a bit of shuteye last night so you can trim your tree.
Have a peaceful Sunday.

Oh I didn't mean to put you off really - just wondering if there were cheaper options for you. To be fair I still haven't found a chair/bed I can sit in happily for a long time even now. Possibly it was more me and my rear end rather than the recliner!
Also wait until you're sorted, as I'm sure you will be, and then think about legal redress? This sounds like malpractice? :old:

Yes, dreaming of the day that I stop viewing chairs as a torture device @bickypeg

My girl friends have been laughing about hooking me up with a chair from our favorite restaurant. They are both tiny and talk about plan to distract staff while hauling out said chair. In truth it is likely the company and spirits that make the chair seem so magical. :carols:

Have fun decorating the tree today @Fit4Family
I like listening to Christmas music or a Christmas movie on tv in the background when I'm decorating. Gets me in the spirit.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow with hopes you like the surgeon, feel confident in him, get the answers you're looking for and feel reassured through your visit with him. I wish you lived closer, I'd happily borrow you my recliner. Prayers you find something that you find comfy and "just right" for your recovery. Just like Goldilocks.
Have a great Sunday!

Hello All,

Hope everyone is getting more mobile and in less pain.

I had my MRI last Thursday and just got back from review with OS. Report showed lots of edema and inflammation. Gluteous minimus tendon still inflamed. Possible stress fracture at top of femur. OS said he was stumped what is taking so long. Said nothing there that would make him want to operate again at this point, unless pain gets much worse. Not a whole lot learned.

So back to original programming. Continuing to hope nature does its thing and keeps slowly knitting me back together. He strongly advised against any exercise except light walking, swimming and cycling as pain tolerates.

Sending healing vibes to all my hipster pals.

Placing this here so it is easier to find. Researcher by day so have very detailed notes. Will wait to consider options until my leg is whole again.

Thank you so much @Layla I am the same, already have music playing until my guys are back from church.

You are so sweet! I am hoping the new doctor is a good fit, the two hospitals he operates in are the best in our area.

Good morning, Sarah. I was looking back through my journal and album of this past year to remind myself how far I’ve come and what I have been able to overcome. I am definitely not the same person I was a year ago in so many ways. I came across this picture of a card I drew from a deck of oracle cards (Postcards from Spirit by Colette Baron-Reid) right before I saw my OS for the first time. What I consider my official start of this journey. I thought it apropos to share on this leg of your journey (as well as for anyone following)
Hope for 2020, Revised THR

Praying you get the answers tomorrow to course correct you back to healing. Enjoy your Christmas preparations. I will be doing the same. Peace and blessings, my friend. Pat ❤️

Sarah, I am tall, also. But I am long waisted and the first hip I was talked into rented the large recliner and while it was still helpful it wasn't the perfection that the second hip had with the size medium chair.
I actually debated keeping it for another month! I'm 5'8" and I still am sad that I wasted all of that time in a too large chair- :heehee:- sad, I tell yah! I think my inseam is 30-31 inches.. same as my 6'1' Hubby
But I hope you seriously consider it, you've been through the wringer a few times now and I think being comfortable early on will help you mentally and physically so much.

But of course it is your decision to make.. so I won't belabor the subject. :banana-santa:

I hope the tree trimming is going well :plugging-in-xmas-tree-smiley-emoticon:

What I did was choose a chair style, tub shaped for me with footstool) and sat on it in the store to see how it fit. I am in the long-legged group as I have a 29-30" inseam and I am 5'2" with no waist whatsoever and you gals are 5'8"+ with over 6-footer other halves! My sister was 5'7" and we had the same length legs. Hubby is 5'8" and we too have the same length legs.

So sorry to hear another surgery is in the cards, and yet, so thankful that your continued pain cause has been identified and thankfully can be addressed. I think we just have to take what life throws us and make the very most of it. :sigh: Sending healing hugs and best wishes for an uneventful and successful revision very soon.

Thank you so much for sharing your inspirational words Pat @Hip4life :loveshwr:

I do feel more ready to get on with the next step. I am anxious for all the decisions ahead, but it sure helps to know others are praying. Have two other revision specialists, but would most likely wait longer to be seen and fixed. My leg is ready to get this sorted out. Thank you sweet friend.

Thank you for your thoughts @CricketHip I think renting makes the most sense. Think I will decide once I know what is to be done and restrictions etc.. The sleep deprivation is real. Appreciate your sizing reference, My inseam is 34”, at 5’8”. So no idea. Sounds like the medium chair. That’s the tricky part. I do have straight back chair, that I’ve raised to be perfect, but a no go for sleeping,

Tree is up! Drinking in the sight and smell tonight. :plugging-in-xmas-tree-smiley-emoticon:

Thank you @Calgal I have wrapped my mind around it now and just want to get her done soon. Guess that is the beauty of pain. Propels one forward to the hopeful solution.

Hope all is well with you. Appreciate your thoughts and wishes. Take care.

Sarsh @Fit4Family - No clue if you are already heading out for your appointment with the revision surgeon. Wishing you all the answers you need and praying for a quick resolution. You were among my first thoughts this morning and remembering how it felt to have the pain behind.

Peace be with you. And great big hugs :console2:
