Well, that's interesting! I've never heard of an epidural and general anesthesia together (I sure have a lot to learn!) Did you have nausea after your surgery? Sounds like you're doing great now!

Hi there. I am 15 days post bilateral direct anterior approach THRs and healing well. Please let me know if there is anything you want to know from me.

Hi @MsFit1 and welcome to Bonesmart!
My THR will likely be in April.
Hope it comes soon! Best to you!

Thank you very much Claire! You all have made me feel very welcome here! I hope for your sake that you're able to have surgery soon! They can't give you a definite date yet? I would imagine the uncertainty would be awful :sorry:
Karen

Hi @Freaky freak - I saw your photo of your "first steps" after your Bilateral THR and I was totally blown away! You go girl! You truly are an inspiration! I'm sure I will have questions for you in the near future. Right now I'm reading everything I can (so much helpful information here!) and enjoy seeing everyone's progress.

@MsFit1 My OS has a five month wait due to demand. He is supposed to be very good from all I have heard about him..... But, where I live (Virginia) they don't grow on trees. Ha
I like your avatar, very cute!

And the nurse wanted me to hold and feed my son - but I felt so ill I just couldn't (I know, what a dreadful mother!)
No! I won't have you say that! You mean you've carried this guilt trip with you all these years? You'd just had major surgery, all done in a terrifying rush - it's perfectly understandable that you'd be feeling too weak and traumatised to hold your son much less feed him! So you put that thought right out of your mind, y'hear me?

Heaps of people have bilateral hips done and sail through it. Just think - one anaesthetic, one surgery, one recovery and it's all done and dusted! Can't beat that!

@MajorHeidi - Well then, he sounds worth waiting for! That's Wolfie, my best friend :puppysmooze: (besides my hubby and kids of course!)

@Josephine - Okay, I guess I have felt a little guilty - but for everything my son has put me through all these years, I guess we're even! (Just teasing - he's a great kid!)

Thank you for the reassuring words. The surgeon I consulted with yesterday pretty much said the same thing you did! And I'm really encouraged by reading the stories of everyone here.

No nausea for me.

My procedure was with general. The anesthesiologist would not do spinal since it was bilateral.
