I guess it seems to me that the bathtub is not so much different than the floor

It is very different in that the tub is slippery and wet. And yes, Jamie has a good point, your wound needs to be completely healed before any bath.

Just as an idea for when the wound has healed, have you considered one of the hydraulic or motorised bath seats to raise and lower you into the bath. Potentially a lot safer and saves a lot of potential pain, having slipped at home 9 days post-op I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.

@rtkitters I just ordered a bath lift from Amazon. Much less expensive than a walk in tub.....and at least allows someone to get in and out of the tub safely. It will not be perfect....but it has almost a 5 star rating.
